Its like calling car crashes "accidents".
They are not. They are a result of decisions to build a system in such a way that crashes happen as a result. Same with this AI stuff.

This is superb.

One of the main ways wealth corrupts is through the erosion of empathy.
When a person achieves fabulous wealth they no longer have to care about what other people say or think because they are insulated from everyone due to their wealth, so their empathy dies.
And when these #Empathy lacking #Billionaires control our media and governments their values infect all of society.

Electric bikes can get anywhere from 1000 to over 4000 MPGe, and are not only more 20 to 35 times more efficient than EVs in terms of miles per kWh, but are also a way more efficient use of batteries than electric cars, according to a recent study.

@notjustbikes This is super interesting podcast because it's much more focused on Lived Experience. Instead of talking about good transit and infrastructure, from an engineering perspective, talking about what it’s like to experience good and bad transit and how it makes us feel, makes for more powerful and emotionally appealing stories.
I think we need to talk more about the constant fear, the anger and the stress that car centric cities create. How we feel looked down on as cyclists and pedestrians in these cities. And how liberating and happy we feel to be in cities that aren’t dominated by cars and have good transit choices.
I guess this is why I enjoy The Arrested Mobility Podcast and why I have great empathy with the people featured in the episodes.
This is something I must remember to communicate more when talking about #Urbanism #notjustbikes

Exploring a relatively new subgenre of science fiction called #Solarpunk, which aims to imagine better, more ecologically harmonious, futures on earth. In many ways Solarpunk is a reaction to both the real-world climate crisis and to the many apocalyptic visions of collapse filling our screens. Andrew Sage from the YouTube channel #Andrewism joins host Jonathan McIntosh and friend of the show Carl Williams for this conversation.

Don’t waver. Don’t let despair sink its sharp teeth Into the throat with which you sing. Escalate your dreams. Make them burn so fiercely that you can follow them down any dark alleyway of history and not lose your way. Make them burn clear as a starry drinking gourd Over the grim fog of exhaustion, and keep walking.
