@mikrotik hi! We just had a fairly obvious spam signup for our Mastodon instance with a data center IP address in Italy, but curiously using an email using the domain “mikrotikvietnam.com”, which is registered with CloudFlare. Is it safe to assume this is not an official MikroTik domain name?

Hey @mikrotik here's an interesting one - I just started ingesting data from my CRS310-8G+2S+IN via SNMP into Grafana. However, I noticed Grafana is showing link speeds for the 10G ports as 4.29Gbps. I checked the raw data, and sure enough that appears to be what the switch is reporting in the SNMP responses. Could this be a bug?

Okay, that's weird, and not a good first @mikrotik device experience.

Both 10G ports were fully dead when I arrived home from work. A software reboot didn't help earlier, but power cycling the DC input brought them back to life.

I upgraded the firmware to 7.19.4 yesterday, I wonder if there's a bug that caused the SFP+ ports to fail. I'm also now hesitant to trust the 10G ports and throw a backup 2.5G link into the mix so I'm not stranded again.

Well, shit. Either the 10G NIC in my server died, or the port on the switch died. Either way, the link slowly degraded over the course of about an hour (going up and down in the Mikrotik switch's logs) until it finally gave up.

Looks like I'm fixing that tonight. 🙃

Opened my @mikrotik CRS310, and, uh... I don't think that's the correct placement for that heatsink.🤔

There we go. First @mikrotik switch for me, and first 10gb network! So far so good.

New Switch arrived today! Not sure how to load up Mario Kart though.
