A lot of my friends are very good singers, yet don't feel confident in their singing.
I blame a youth spent listening to Eddie Vedder, Chris Cornell, Layne Staley and Scott Wieland, giving us unrealistic expectations as to the minimum requirements for emotional expression when singing.
I can't trust any god whose promised land is "a land of milk and honey" and yet has also created lactose intolerance and diabetes.

How can someone be working IT adjacent and advising people on related matters without even being aware of the existence of PHP?
Henry Cavill deserved at least one more dedicated Superman movie. He was short changed, frankly. He has definitely been the best Superman, on a par with Christopher Reeve. And I do not say that lightly.
Russian data centres get bombed and now Trump's approval rating is in the bin.

The UK government has announced a crackdown on “headphone dodgers” on public transport. Councils will be able to hand out £100 fines to bus passengers playing music out loud, while train companies are already allowed to give £1,000 penalties. The announcement, says Politico, is part of a series of “everyday fixes” being unveiled this week to appease voters ahead of the budget.
Stopped myself commenting on a LinkedIn post as it's likely wise to obfuscate my left wing views.
Happening more and more often these days.
This week can't go quick enough. on Saturday, we're heading to Lincolnshire for a few days to visit my family (well, my sister).
A few days in the middle of nowhere, with pretty countryside and a couple of places to visit for a day out will be just what the doctor ordered.
Can you understand, future me?
This time of night, for some reason, I'm always more focused on music....
I often overlook the simplicity and impact of Bela Lugosi's Dead.
While my wife is out, I spent this evening showing my daughter 80s TV, early anime and music to give her an idea of where I'm coming from.
She went to bed halfway through my Celtic Frost set.
Still proud.
Northern Fail's app is, unsurprisingly rubbish. Net connection required not access ticket details. No net connection at most gates.
In this case, it's repeating the old "randomly refusing to display the QR code" Error. Today, at least, the guy on the gate let me through. Some jobsworths won't, despite the screen showing date of validity and to and from stations.
What would I do if the gate wasn't manned?
If you're one of those #notrights who plays videos in public with the volume on, please understand that turning the volume down doesn't help. Barely audible is still audible and (perhaps even more) annoying. If you can hear it, we can hear it.
In a world where headphones exist, why is this a thing?
Waiting for the delivery guy to arrive...

Caroline Lucas furious Zack Polanski got ten times more votes than she did
"Caroline Lucas has reacted angrily to Zack Polanski’s woeful campaign in Holborn and St Pancras and will not rule out asking him to step aside. I can’t say I blame her.
Polanski disgraced himself by more than tripling the Greens’ vote share from the last election, taking 33% in a Labour safe seat during Burnham’s honeymoon period."
“We’re sending kids to school to memorize facts that ChatGPT can retrieve in under a second.”
:blobcatfacepalm: Yeah worst of all, gym classes are making them run a mile that Uber can cover in less than a minute

Feeling the need for a nostalgia hit this evening. Tonight may be a #battletech night!
I've started logging my meals again. Taking Dong Haichuan's birthday this month as a call to action, I want to return to daily baguazhang practice.
My PKU means I need to pay more than usual attention to my diet and nutrient intake. While I find it is a bit more intensive, generally, than Tai Chi, baguazhang practice won't allow any significant increases in PHe allowance. But I was feeling very good before injury curtailed my daily routine. I want that back.
