@withaveeay Stevan, can I ask a quick question? OK, that makes it two… 😋

When you install on a personal laptop, do you let the installer handle partitioning, or do you go old school and do it yourself with separate partitions for everything?
Obv doing the latter is a must for a server, but for a laptop it makes a lot of sense to let the installer do its thang.
Or a simple
/
/swap
/mydata (I tend to avoid home directories)

Just curious. 🤷‍♀️

To all techie nerds:

I was today years old when I learned that apparently you’re supposed to reapply thermal paste to a laptop roughly once a year, to keep it in tip-top shape.

Is this just gamers-gone-mad nonsense, or have I been computing all wrong for the past 30yrs? Cos I’ve had plenty of laptops, they’ve all lasted 5-6yrs and still been working when I bought the next one, and I’ve never applied thermal paste in my life…

Can anyone recommend a good cross-platform ereader device? I like my Kindle, but I want to break free of Amz. Similarly no Nook, and unless someone can convince me otherwise, no Kobo.

I don’t want to be tied to any DRM platform; if I’m going to convert 1k+ books to a non-DRM ePub format, I want something I can store/read them on without 👀 being monitored by AI/algorithms.
