There's a steep learning curve with emergency preparedness, and it's easy to fall down the rabbit hole in doing research. A few things to keep in mind...
1. Emergency preparedness is not a one-and-done kind of deal. It's an ongoing effort that needs to be kept up with regularly.
2. Emergency services are not going to come for you in an emergency. They will be prioritizing helping the greatest number of people over you as an individual.
3. Regardless of what you're thinking, you are vastly underestimating how much water you'll need.
