This is a very sincere question that I struggle with a bit. A local synagogue I travel by regularly has had a sign out with "we support Israel" next to an israeli flag. A few weeks ago the sign was burned.

My current view on it is this would be the equivalent of burning an american flag or a trump sign/flag or a confederate battle flag or something along the same lines.

So I'm trying to get clarity on this from anyone willing to engage the questions:

A) is the act of burning that sign anti-Semitic on its own, not knowing the thoughts of the person who did it?
B) In what ways is my thinking flawed on this one?
