I have successfully migrated all of my everything from my two Linodes into a single VPS from https://binarylane.com.au, and have also re-enabled the WordPress ActivityPub plugin after adding a caching plugin to @blog so hopefully it doesn't all fall over in a heap again next time I write a post. ☝🏻

And then this evening I put together the world's most overengineered bedframe, which weighs more than I do.

(We got this one specifically because a) we're sick of having to replace cheap bedframes because the slats either warp or the whole thing starts creaking, and b) all the other ones were too low to fit our storage boxes under them.)

Another Thursday, another jam session! And we had a team event today and so had a paid-for-by-work lunch at a Japanese restaurant in Barangaroo and it was delicious. 👌🏻

We took full advantage of #GloriousSydney today and went to Fagan Park to meet up with @ausfestivus and his lovely wife and their two dogs April and Amber. Hornsby Council have recently opened HUGE off-leash dog park there so we went and did a bunch of ball-throwing for April and Amber and met several other dogs as well and it was excellent.

Democracy: done. ✅

No democracy sausage since it was early voting, but for some bizarre reason when we went in Tony fucking Abbott¹ was standing there with the Liberal² people who were handing out the how-to-vote pamphlets. It was surprisingly busy, we had a minute or two's queue before getting our ballot papers. Then on the way back out, Abbott was talking to a few people outside one of the shops, with a photographer who I assume was from a newspaper. Just bizarre, I'm not sure what they were attempting to accomplish there.

Well, that was a pleasant surprise, I took the iPad into the Apple Store and because there wasn't actually any external physical damage (somehow I managed not to crack the screen glass itself at all?!) they're going to treat it as a regular warranty repair! It's being sent off to the repair depot and I should get it back in about a week.

@yayKM and I played some 1v1 Warhammer Underworlds for the first time in ages! @yayKM went with her now-standard Gorechosen of Dromm, while I played Domitan's Stormcoven who I haven't actually played at all before despite getting the Wyrdhollow box nigh on two years ago now. 😬 The Stormcoven are shamefully unpainted and we had to call it after the second round (and it ended in a 8-8 draw!), but the Stormcoven's gameplay was really interesting with the inspiration being able to be switched around after activations, I'm looking forward to playing them more!

The miniatures themselves are fantastic too (you can see them close-up when I assembled and undercoated them: https://virtualwolf.org/media/posts/2378) and normally I find the Stormcast Eternals very uninteresting (they're much like Space Marines in that respect 😛) but Games Workshop done a really good job with these three, in particular Leona Stratosi who looks like she's actually flying.

For fuck's sake, I've had my new iPad Pro for not even three months and I just managed to slip while I was playing the drums (it's mounted in front of me in the middle of the kit) and hit it right in the bottom-right corner with the drum stick and now the bottom ~centimetre of screen is just black and the whole screen turns off almost immediately.

Right, it's time for some hooning in Forza Horizon 5 in my hotted-up 1970 Datsun 510. 😁 I put a 1.6L inline-four turbocharged rally engine into it, 224kW all up but it only weighs 807kg so it's such a responsive car to drive.

It's yer man, me, having just gotten both a flu jab and a COVID booster! The COVID booster is free, and work is reimbursing flu jabs, woot.

I'm fully expecting to be feeling like warmed-up rubbish tomorrow so the plan is mostly going to be sitting on the lounge playing video games. The last major Baldur's Gate 3 patch came out today and it includes a photo mode so I reckon I can spend a fair bit of time screwing around with that!

Jam session was excellent fun! The drum speaker worked an absolute treat and held its own perfectly against the bass and guitar amps, and we ended up playing for probably a good five hours all up. And we had the occasional audience too, haha.

Honestly, how good are hatchbacks. I pulled apart my drum kit for the jam session tomorrow and packed it into the Cerato and it fits perfectly, along with my little Blackstar guitar amp and the significantly larger drum monitor.
