i'm at the point a Buddhist ... conducts a seance.
it goes badly.

where in the world is senator Flávio Bolsonaro?

i started this last night.
i woke up about 4:00 am, stared at the ceiling until 5:00 & decided it was time to start reading again.
this is such a good read.
this may be a book i gift my fam this year.

How it's going for those little cacti i found in my yard: still have four of the five, but the one i managed to separate is sporting three paddles on top now. The other three are straight up still; not sure i'll ever get them apart because they are entangled and well armed.
The vitamin bottle is included for scale. None of them were taller than that bottle when this started.

fournography

so PHP is all jacked up, the internet is jacked up and pypi is jacked up...

maybe i break down and give Perl a second look... :akko_confused: :akko_badday:

What is the value of the chair you normally sit in to do computer things at home? (since everyone's money is different, select the word you think best describes it)

NetBSD is installed on a VM.
There are problems, the most pressing i've noticed is no package installer came with it (?!!!?) which means, no friendly desktop environment either.
taking a break for food.
will continue/try again as time allows.

i was laying in bed, not quite awake, still remembering a superhero i was dreaming about (Isopod, a [gentleman] in a gleaming white isopod suit whose power was washing things with pods) and i got onto a tangent remembering a .vot file of... white dwarfs(?) last night, when i figured out i could use the table/spreadsheet thingee to navigate to a particular spot, and that i could rotate and elevate the uhhh circular ball of points (stars, i assume)... the tangent was, "is our sun dragging around the Oort cloud, or is the Oort cloud dragging the sun... and there should be evidence to figure it out, and at this moment i don't know what it is."

Now awake.
blink blink

Good morning.

wild how washed laundry will not put itself away

so, i decided i wanted a particular model kit, and sorted thru the available options on Amazon. The two i liked were a fairly high grade kit, and a better than average kit, but they were the same price. They were identical subjects, two different manufacturers.

I recall picking the better than average one, because i wanted an easier build.

Yesterday the fairly high grade kit showed up.

There was a time i would have been positively excited by this, but my goal is to make more than my usual 3 kits a year, so it's not really helping out.

Knowing there is nothing much to do about it, and this morning i'll log in to Amazon, and i'm certain my order will show what they sent... but i know better... :akko_fraun:

wondering if the average nitwit (it me) should learn Perl or LUA for average not-my-server kinds of things

Ubuntu: Updates Security updates available

me: Yeah, this sounds uh... wut?

(this sounds like a virus, not an update.)

and so it begins: starting from Ubuntu LXQt, going to try to put Niri on.
This is the starting point.

meow and fix things

so, i failed to get Gentoo installed
again.
In the process I had a couple of PCIe failures, after having HDD failures earlier. I kinda think this computer is on borrowed time. But, this is where I got to today with reasonably current backups:

Once again, I am out of book marks.
How many book marks do you generally use reading a single book?

Thinking about Noël Godin throwing a pie at Bill Gates today.

We need more of this to gently remind the powerful, so we don't have to Mussolini them instead.

I didn't know him, but will miss the guy that pied Bill.

i wonder if i can put the program that puts apps it thinks i don't use to 'deep sleep' or better yet, rip it out by the roots and throw it away...
