Interesting; has been 15 years or so since the EU last had a new country join. #EU #Montenegro https://www.dw.com/en/eu-says-montenegro-on-track-to-become-blocs-next-member-state-by-2028/a-79855011

The LLMs are creating a new kind of mysticism. At Project Gutenberg, we're starting to get emails they have written trying to contact authors of some of the books we distribute. The authors have been dead for over a hundred years. I'm tempted to answer.

I hope the Australians indicating opinion poll support for the deplorable One Nation will see that the toxic mix of racism, misogyny, corruption and populism will eventually poison them too.

Excited to see a bunch of soulless corporations change their values overnight again.

Data centers in earth orbit is a stupid idea, basic physics says so. The smart move is sending them to into the sun. Think of all the power!

Who know voters might be unhappy with a barely comprehensible madman who was more interested in building a ballroom and fighting a pointless endless war than dealing with their everyday concerns?

This is interesting. The guy who won the Iowa senate seat off the Republicans is a Paralympian:

"Supporters said Mr. Turek’s life story inspired them. A two-time Paralympic gold medalist in basketball, he uses a wheelchair because he was born with spina bifida, a condition connected to his father’s exposure to Agent Orange in the Vietnam War."

Deb Haaland makes history to become the first-ever First Nations governor of a US state. She will be the 108th governor of New Mexico.

If you want something cheerful to read this arvo, let me refer you to the US midterm election results. A thorough repudiation of Trump and his henchmen, very pleasing all round.

Probably a cue for me to get up and head to the library.

Oh god they're playing that Gotye song at this cafe. The deal was that I never had to listen to that again, after hearing it a million times on JJJ when it was first released.
