It's interesting (derogatory) that AI companies have managed to rebrand cronjobs as "agents"

The solution to LLMs producing mediocre code is simple: just let AI build a time machine and send back "how to program good" books into the past so the training data is better.

US peeps, reminder that even if you can't get yourself to vote (e.g. over a specific issue)—please use your vote to provide a voice for someone who isn't allowed to vote or is otherwise disenfranchised and who is in danger of serious harm the fascists stay in the near absolute power they have.

You don’t use video floppy disks? You call this “living”?

All memory needs are taken care of in the Fuchs household

PSA: there’s way easier and cheaper ways to learn nothing and feel like shit afterwards than to watch any of those documentaries about criminals that are in cinemas right now

Today’s watch, modded Casio Royale

God I hate this.

(Nope, don't need help with it. Just expressing how frustrating everything has become lately. I wish we knew why.)

I just left Firefox after over 20 years because of all the shit Mozilla has been shoveling into the browser in the last few years.

Maybe listen to your users, but what do I know.

Update! Oh my gosh thank you for the dozen offers of help. Please do not boost this anymore, I can’t take any more kindness!

Absurd request: could I buy a physical audiobook for someone in the UK to rip for me? I'm trying to get the unabridged Stephen Briggs recording of Terry Pratchett's Monstrous Regiment in its UK edition - something that is no longer available digitally for sale except in its awful US edition that alters the meaning of the book.

It's unsurprisingly difficult to buy a physical English language UK only audiobook that's >20 years old anywhere, but this one at least pops up in the UK once in a while, but I'm yet to ever see it on German sites or in second hand shops.

Boosts OK #discworld #bookstodon

RIP Walter Koenig

Seeing people weirdly are saying “Apple products have always been bad quality and not durable” and no, that’s absolutely not the case.

Amongst many other things I’ve an Apple computer literally from the 1970s and it still works fine (everything is factory).

Eero wants his chicken (sound on)

Good morning to everyone except Reflect Orbital.

Wow the iPhone Duo doesn’t even support Google

Honestly I think one reason why LLMs are popular with programmers is that it feeds gear acquisition syndrome, to use a photography term
