A breath of fresh air in a fetid, horrifying, stench of corruption that is Donald Trump and everything he touches.

Took my boy's 529 accounts out of the target date fund into an SP500 index and bond fund to avoid Musk's SpaceX / QQQ money grab.

Guess I'm managing the target date myself from now on.

When are we as a species going to stop the billionaire madness...

So grateful for the federal district courts, our slow, but effective, check against the ignorance, malice, and corruption of Trump and his minions.

I was reading NextDoor (I know...) to see what people were saying about the local solar installers.

It was shocking seeing how many posts were spreading FUD and misinformation about solar.

I'm hoping it's fossil fuel industry bots. Otherwise, people around here are fucking idiots.

Wonderful to see Hawaii take on anonymous corporate money in politics to start the process of countering Citizens United.

Can't wait for my state, and all the rest, to follow suit

I love the School For Moral Ambition. Yet another example of creating the systems for people to survive and thrive at making the world a better place.

Keep it up!

This is why you don't connect your car to the Internet.

It makes me think older cats will get more and more expensive as people start to value their privacy more.

One can hope ..

Just finished Marrs's The Marriage Act.

Excellent book. Horrifying possible timeline.

2 thumbs up!

Slop tax? Yes or No?

I think the slop will decrease once the free money runs out and providers have to start raising their prices, but taxing it would go a long way toward preserving the creative industries.

I have to use Claude at work. In some cases it is faster. However, I end up spending most of the time saved double checking its output because I find errors or omissions more often than not.

I'm grateful to Ed Zitron for keeping me up to speed on the fundamental flaws of the technology, business model, players, and infrastructure. It gives me ammunition when having debates about margins, profitability, and risk when figuring out where we're going to invest our resources.

Thrilled at the news from Hungary - for them, for Europe, and for eroding even more of Trump's power.

Suck it, John Deere! says the man only 2 generations off the farm...

It's an insultingly small settlement considering their egregious behavior. But hopefully the FTC suit will levy some hefty fines and more companies will think twice about screwing their customers.

It sucks when people are like "but flying is only 3% of global emissions" or "bitcoin is only 0.5%." It all adds up when you're in a climate emergency.
Out of ALL the nations of the world, 203 (all but 6) emit under 2% of global emissions.
- If global aviation were a nation it would be the #6 top emitter after China, the US, India, Russia, and Japan.
- The richest 1% of humans contribute 50% of all flying emissions! It is an incredibly privileged act.
As for Bitcoin, if it were a country, it emits more CO2 than 179 (86%) of the world's nations.

Hooray, it's No Kings Eve!

See all y'all tomorrow!

I'm a little behind in my podcasts, but here's an excellent speech from @pluralistic on the opportunity Trump has given the world to break free from American tech.

Well worth a listen!
