#disability doesn’t magically make you not human. And I am very aware that’s not how it feels like when dealing with the world.

This fact is important when it comes to proactive defense of #AI data centers „because they are used by disabled people”. That is a case of a very human „I got mine, fuck you”.

Guess what else is used by disabled people? Water, food, shelter, etc. which gets harder to get access to with climate change and increase in cost of living that data centers directly contribute to. It gets doubly hard for disabled people, because non-disabled people are also affected and can compete better.

Having access to stable internet connection that allows use of those data centers’ services is a marker of significant privilege, even though it rarely feels like it for obvious reasons.

And I know you know, because every time I tried pointing this out, the other party got combative and evasive.

This is a great illustration to what makes current #AI iteration dangerous. Not the invasiveness of it—that is solely on humans behind the tech—but the fact that AI solution working and AI solution operating but not working look the same.

This also offers an explanation to why management is so eager to replace people with AI. After all, in a dysfunctional managerial structure, people working and people going through motions look the same.
