Well that was fun. #WritingCommunity

Quiet week on here as I was (gasp) trying to edit offline. Have discovered something about my writing process: sometimes regardless how much time I pour onto a project, the word count remains consistent. Perhaps time isn’t always the limiting factor >.< Why am I like this?

By the time I’ve finished re-writing this novel about AI and ghosts… an AI will be able ghost write it for me.

Super slow progress this week because of crazy work stuff.

New clothing collection launched yesterday (day job), and justifiable exhaustion today. Mammoth task pulling together the last bits of the online store yesterday.

Today I will (really) take a lunch break and do some editing/writing. Forced distance from the WIP is sometimes a good thing: I figured out why part of the plot wasn't working for me.

Editing/rewriting a novel that poured into @scrivenerapp over two consecutive #NaNoWriMo (so imagine the resulting mess). It was kind of plotted… which could be why I haven't set the thing on fire and buried the ashes yet. Glimpses of what it could be. But also, what was I thinking!? Detangling noodle-chapter chaos today. Entirely my fault. #amwriting

Words? Where. Help. #amwriting

Super over tired today but only time I have to write. Let’s see how this goes. Prepare for the mangled words! 😫

Wow! I'm a finalist in the 2022 @clarkesworld Reader Poll for my novelette 'Carapace'! I am so delighted, thank you to everyone who nominated. You can see the full list and vote for the winner on Neil's post here

And global sea-ice extent has now set a new *all-time* record low...

➡️ Arctic (2nd lowest on record for date) + Antarctic (lowest on record for date)

Got stuck in a plot issue with novel yesterday, and took a day away from it today. Words tomorrow? Editing is hard.

Morning shop! #QOTD: How do you keep track of edits/revisions? Do you make a separate document to collate all the changes you want to make? Comment up the draft? Do you have a fancy system, or is it chaos?

How’s the editing going? Welllllll…

Finally getting back on track with editing a strange Edinburgh-set science fiction novel. 25% of this rewrite down. Poor protagonist is starting to doubt her memories (while the author is having much cruel fun). #amwriting #sff

I live on a slight incline into the docks. Someone tipped over one of the recycle bins. For the last few hours, drinks cans rattle down the street every time the wind blows. It's pretty... post-apocalyptic.
