Imho, the only argument (and it’s a strong one) against passkeys is that you can’t back them up.

For some reason there’s a lot of discourse about FIDO2 on here. I really don’t get the panic. You usually can’t enable MFA without some sort of recovery mechanism (e.g. one time codes). The passwordless login is a huge convenience! It’s also an indicator something’s very wrong if the passkey suddenly stops working. If that happens, you probably want to check wtf is going on before logging in with a different authentication method. Kinda like the big, scary ssh host key has changed warning.
