I want to be like @heydon. Seriously. I want to be that person that bridges art, design and code with such expertise and care. And their work is actually cool.
So many problems in the translation of product ideas into code could be lessened when such people are in the pipeline.
But is anyone hiring for it? Rarely! Could my company do with such a person? Absolutely! Can we hire Heydon? Probably not, I've asked, because I'd love to work with them... It'd be a blessing.
I also received some moss balls today, I cut one up and pushed it into a few of the cracks and crags in the two pieces of wood... Yeah!
And some limnophila sessifloria is coming some time next week, which should grow fast and fill in the back.
I can't say I'm not pretty pleased with myself right now!
Will the plants hold up? No idea. There's the odd yellowing leaf in there already. But right now it looks nice :)
At some point I'll clean the glass too and fill it up a bit more properly - but as more stuff is going to go in this week and next, I need some water clearance for my forearm 😅 💪
Oh noes it's getting direct sunlight! Might not be too bad as it's only in the mornings and only winter sun - summer sun is too high in the sky to reach so far into the room. Let's hope all my plants don't lean to the left (like I do) 😅
Also, rainbows!
More wood and moss coming today - along with a small water pump and a heater, to use if necessary (classic freshwater tanks are all about water filtration, movement and tropical temps, but it may be secondary with the Walstad method - we'll see)
Danke #Janosch. Ruhe in Frieden. 🖤
Einen Nachruf gibt es heute abend um 19.20 Uhr in der #Kulturzeit.
Good morning USA! You did it!!!
Well, thank goodness for that. Here's hoping the Democrats get to work fast - and actually issue consequences to Trump and his enablers.
Having looked up the plants properly now (was just in a hurry to get them in yesterday) it may be that a few of them won't thrive in this kind of set up.
We'll see! And if not, I will get hold of varieties that will.
The plants came!
Now after set-up it looks sort of bedraggled, that's expected - I've still got some more wood and some moss to come.
Looking forward to it growing in, let's see if these plants survive! They came in a surprise packet, what turned up was:
Micranthemum callitrichoides 'Cuba'
Lobelia cardinalis
Lysimachia nummularia 'Aurea'
Hygrophila polysperma
Ludwigia repens 'Diamond Red'

Yep. It'd be amazing if Britain would pay reparations, but I don't think there's enough money in the world for all the damage caused.
All the best to everyone voting today ✔️
I remember a long time ago when we in Europe thought GW Bush was stupid (little did we know), and I remember seeing a website* full of webcam photos of American people holding up "sorry" signs scrawled on scrap paper after he got voted back in for his second term.
Let's hope things go better this time. I know they're "just" midterms, but they're here now and hopefully will hamstring the Trump & the GOP - like it or not, a lot of the world is affected by their actions.
Quick accessibility question - is use of aria-label as bad as it used to be?
I read somewhere that translated pages now translate it too. Is that true?
Is it picked up on divs by screen readers, or still not?
