Here are November's questions.

I can't share details because her work is not published quite yet, but the talk Laurie Rousseau-Nepton gave was sharing details of her research project on Indigenous North American archeoastronomy, and my jaw was on the floor for probably 75% of the talk. Combined with her amazing science communication and storytelling skills, that was the most powerful talk I've ever seen. Wow.
<29 How do you feel about alliteration?
It's possible I like it too much. I don't set out to write alliterative sentences, but they come up on their own often enough, and once an alliterative sentence suggests itself, I may look to see if I can make it even more alliterative.

#Wss366 #Cloud #TimeTravelAuthors Whatever #ScribesAndMakers “I never expected...”
My mind began to #cloud. What had the mountain shaman told us about meeting the Princess of the Castle? “Ack!” I could almost remember. It was at the tip of my feathers: “If a crone accosts you…”
But what did she say after that? What were… we to… do? My thoughts drifted away like gagaimo fluff.
“You have mistaken recklessness for courage.” Osakabe-hime's voice cut through the fog like a kite’s cry, only full of cold scorn. “White Heron Castle is not…” Her speech trailed off with an intake of breath. Then, in a totally different tone, one of surprise and perhaps awe, “I never expected...”

#ScribesAndMakers Oct 28: I never expected...
to be on this side of the lid. You spend your whole life puttin’ folks in ‘em, you never think — least I didn’t — about bein’ the ‘loved one’ yourself.
As if each funeral bill I’d collected was a bet against death.
Now in this backless suit with eau d’formaldahide stinkin’ up the place, all I can hear is my ol’ partner upsellin’ my wife on headstones and flowers.
I try to scream it’s all a boondoggle, but for the cotton filled in my mouth.

28. Trophy
Looking for public domain images showed me so many dead animals, and that's not something I want to draw. Instead have a golden laurel wreath.
Here I come with a new question. I gotta stop using gmail. What do you kind, smart people recommend?
(boosting appreciated)
#ScribesAndMakers <27 Do you collect (unaltered) natural materials for projects?
Oh yes! Sometimes I don’t know what they’ll be for when I collect them. Sometimes I do. I used plants to make cyanotypes and embroidered with bits of tree bark in my fabric meditation books, for example: https://www.denisecicuto.com/#/fabricmeditation
#ScribesAndMakers 10/27. Do you collect (unaltered) natural materials for projects?
In the past, yeah. There was a time I was making “trash art” and I would pick up whatever refuse I could find on the streets. Democratically I made no differentiation between nature and culture.
This one was fun because it was leaf fabric I laid over some actual leaves.
Also I’ve combined flower petals with photos and drawings.
#ScribesAndMakers 27, Do you collect (unaltered) natural materials for projects?
Sure, for projects... yes.. that's why....
Collecting treasures is a whole thing in my family. I honestly thought everyone did this. My mother collects shells, my aunties collect rocks, my cousin collects crystals, my father used to collect seeds, my uncle different types of sand, my grandfather had a thing for wood and branches, and I collect just about anything that catches my eye. Many of which does eventually feature in some illustrations somewhere and my MCs have a similar urge to collect things.
#ScribesAndMakers Oct. 27: Do you collect (unaltered) natural materials for projects?
Sometimes.
<27 Do you collect (unaltered) natural materials for projects?
Not for my own projects, but sometimes for my wife. She's on the lookout for natural materials right now for a mobile project inspired by a friend's poem.
