This episode is even more unbelievable because the granddaughter of a Jeju haenyo apparently can't swim and dies instantly after be pushed from a cliff into the ocean.

From the same cliff where the prosecutor and the ghost shaman/CEO fell too, but didn't die. Why 😄?

Don't get me wrong, for now it's an enjoyable watch, but the trope of water petrification gets under my skin 😂

Since it's almost Halloween, I started watching #SpookyInLove #

I'm at ep 03.

I hadn't seen the water madness in a while, so I even thought that this nonsense was gone for good in #kDrama world, but here we are again.

Human bodies not coming to the surface but magically stuck in deep sea waters. Except for the ones alive who can swim, of course. If you can't swim, then your body freezes and petrifies.

@Wen @s1m0n4 I actually ordered a Jolla Phone today. Now begins the long wait. :)
I'm in equal parts excited and nervous.

First toot from my new Jolla phone!

Making choices is hard. Sometimes it's exhausting.
Sometimes it's easier to not make a choice.

I do it all the time.

But not choosing is also a choice.

By allowing an algorithm to decide what I'm going to watch, or even just to provide the options from which I made my choice, I am ceding my agency to the machine. I am choosing to trust the people who programmed that algorithm, and the choices that they made.

And, increasingly, if this isn't pointing you towards political extremism, it's pulling you back to the mean, taking you from whatever potentially unique and interesting and maybe independent media you might be consuming back to whatever had the most marketing dollars pumped into it.

What happened yesterday in many French cities resembles the riots that took place in London in 2011.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_England_riots

Except that the violence is escalating from one week to the next one. It started with minors, but now we have organised and coordinated black blocks groups.

It's a stroke of luck that no one died yet.
EDIT: a protester died. 1800 protesters arrested so far.

The C15 is certainly a decent car if you need to transport cows.
But if you are more interested in transporting humans, check out this cool ride:

Ok, looks like this is the week of funny experiences.

Customer: "I had an AI check our server and it says the SSH port is open and that's not very secure."

Me: "Yes, you asked us to open it so you could access the server via SFTP (actually, you wanted FTP, but we discussed it a bit and found this compromise). Don't worry, it's only accessible from your IP and you land in a dedicated FreeBSD jail. From there, you can only access the 'exchange' directory on your server, where you can upload and download files without affecting the application."

(NB: I had suggested a VPN, but they declined because it was too complicated.)

Customer: "Yes, but maybe it's still insecure. Can't we close it?"

Me: "No, unless you want to lose access to that directory."

Customer: "Ok, thanks."

One hour later:

Customer: "Hi, I think we've found a solution. We've just created an app (!!!) with AI that lets us access the files anyway, but more securely than SSH (!!!). Can we install that and close SSH? Oh, and not in the dedicated jail, but directly in the application's jail, because it needs access to the application's files."

Me: "Frankly, I trust SSH in a dedicated jail, restricted by the firewall, a lot more. I don't think this is a good idea."

Customer: "Ok, thanks."

Half an hour later:

Customer: "Ok, now it's secure. I had another AI check it and it found some security issues, but it fixed them all. Can you install it and disable SSH?"

Me: "I strongly advise against it. I can see problems coming."

Customer: "Ok, thanks."

One hour later, my phone rings.

Their internal IT guy (who has access to the machine, which, after all, belongs to them) had given the AI the login credentials to go ahead with the operation.

Except the AI had managed to lock itself out via the firewall, without even starting the app. And now they couldn't get back in.

Fortunately, I had my own access, via VPN, to a separate jail that the AI hadn't touched (or even considered).

Customer: "SORRYSORRYSORRYSORRYSORRY! From now on, we do things your way."

Well, at least it ended well.

PS: The customer knows I'm sharing this story and agreed to it.

#Italy now joins an increasing number of countries testing the viability of #coffee production. #Portugal, #Spain, even non-traditional parts of the United States like Florida are all finding #coffee to grow surprisingly well. “Everything changed over the last six years; the #heat became tropical in nature”
“Which is of course not a good thing. The reason #coffee is now growing better than it historically has is #climatechange”
