I just finished reading Watergate: A New History by Garrett Graff.
Really fascinating book, explained things in depth that I knew only on a surface level. The biggest things I came away from it were the depths and breadth of what was going on, and how little the break-in itself was the core issue.
And the integrity of those who were able to see what was going on and to act on it, rather than let it stand, everything from key people whose names you know to seemingly inconsequential aides. And to see names I knew from the 90s and 2000s, how many of them entered the story as young researchers or lawyers.
Recommended if you're into history, politics, or just hoping there are people of integrity in our current climate.
