"Which Victory Road from Pokémon do you mean? There's been several Pokémon games with different Victory Roads."
*Remembering the English lessons I had as a kid*
"Sorry. Pokémon games with different Victories Road."

In like 2003 some fucker wrote a stupid ditty about the US bombing Iraq and Saddam Hussein and I am extremely upset that in 2026 at fucking 2 in the morning it is suddenly stuck in my head

also you have a large suburban house full of shit your boomer parents never threw out, like a tin of cloves from 1987 that you finally discovered and threw out in 2021

people complain about inventory management in video games but you know what's even worse? inventory management in real life. imagine a video game, except you have to physically move all the objects. and you have weekly limits on how much you can toss. and some items aren't allowed to be tossed normally and you have to take them to a special Dangerous Items Center, which takes about 20 minutes to get to in your car -- which itself has limited storage space. also large items can only be disposed of in a special event that's once a year -- if your strength stat is even high enough to move them!

An ideal pickup line, to me, is one that has a chance of establishing a rapport over a shared interest, while not coming across as *too* weird/creepy in the event the other person doesn't actually share that interest.

For example:
"You remind me of the babe."

For another example:
"Hey, did you know the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV Online has an expanded free trial up to level 70, now including the award-winning Heavensward and Stormblood expansions, with no restrictions on playtime?"

Geoguessr is like "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego" except you play as Carmen Sandiego

"But you aren't being chased by Acme agents" why do you think there's a time limit

there's a certain genre of Internet Post that starts with "wouldn't it be fucked up if" and proceeds into not just the fucked up scenario, but also a truly worrying amount of detailed consequences that someone has spent probably an unhealthy amount of time thinking about this scenario to elaborate on.

Sometimes it gets extended into an entire fic series on AO3 with like 30 chapters.

And other times it becomes Final Fantasy XIV

Also to be clear anyone else may also use it for any non-commercial non-asshole purposes

I commissioned a graphic designer to make this for me, and I hereby give permission to any of my trans friends to use it for any non-commercial fair use parody purposes (if you try to sell it you may get a letter from pro wrestling lawyers)

@foone I was trying to make a meme based on the Super Mario Bros. Death Generator page, but it doesn't seem to have the period (seen in the game's ending text, attached)? Would this be too hard to fix? Or is it already there but mapped to some other character?

@foone so I was going through the Catgirl Headphones thread again and I noticed the tweet where you said you prefer floppy disks... and I think I have found a perfect compromise picture to send

@marnanel I am trying to find the source of this image -- I have a vague recollection it may have been you? it feels like your style of humor

1984: don't talk to strangers
1994: don't accept food from strangers
2004: don't give any personal information to strangers on the Internet
2024: give strangers on the Internet your personal information so they can bring you food

@maddy I was playing FFXIV earlier today and I got pulled into the World of Darkness raid with a "Celeste Thorson" -- is that you, by any chance? If so, I was Lady Estradiol
