3/ If you need a big O refresher, here's how it's used on the street.

#TIL apparently there are so many fake #Casio calculators in circulation that Casio offers an authenticity check online.

You scan a QR code printed on the package or generated by the #calculator. On an fx-991DEX Classwiz, press MENU, then SHIFT+OPTN. You're taken to a Casio website which tells you whether you bought a real or a fake one.

Though, I'm not exactly sure how useful a static QR code is at all. Wouldn't fake calculators just copy the QR code from a real one?

@owlsintowels you are the master of alt text. Bravo.

Ja, was denn nun?

Using #AI can be problematic with any agent. But when using an agent from #China, things get wild.

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today.

Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man. Just last month, on Sept. 14, he turned 90, on the same day Brad and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary. I will always treasure that he and I shared that date.

Walter was more than Chekov. He was a writer, a teacher, a thoughtful man, and a loyal friend. To the fans who loved him for so many years, thank you. He loved you too.

Rest well, my dear friend. Keep navigating a steady course.

Thanks to #CodenameOne (an ahead-of-time transpiler), Java wins 38 out of 42 desktop benchmarks against Rust. And in 3 of the 4 measurements that favour Rust, the difference isn't greater than 4 ms 🤯

Gucke Tagesschau.

I would like to announce that President Putin has withdrawn all Russian troops from Ukraine and is now flying to The Hague to turn himself in. I can’t make this happen, but I can announce it. So, I’m in the same position as Donald Trump, routinely described as the most powerful man in the world.
