I have work to do, but I am too upset to do it. A family member is attempting to bargain with me about what my gender identity should be.

I am awfully sorry.

It is an occupational hazard of being a university teacher, lecturing first year undergraduates in their first semester.

I am blisteringly furious at what school has done to my students.

I know that there are plenty of delightful teachers in the world, and that nobody wants to do a bad job.

It would not be so bad if Haskell were to return to the city it came from, rather than falling into the hands of murderous bigots.

I am old and tired and a bit fucked, but I will step up if they make me. I will need friends.

@haskell_foundation I don't want blood.

I primarily want honesty.

What I'm getting is silence.

@haskell_foundation Who are the craven-hearted money-grubbing fools who fell for Anduril money?

Whoever they are, we need them to be expunged from the leadership of our community.

Yes, I fear the worst. But even so.

@haskell_foundation I don't want to fork the project. But I will if I have to.

@haskell_foundation We know it must be a majority of you. So if you won't fess up individually, you will all have to go.

So, @haskell_foundation, we're very far from done.

Every single person who voted Travis Whitaker onto your board must confess and resign.

Gaskell is a possibility.

Look, in private, I'm not made of awesome energy. In fact, at this moment, I'm so asthmatic I can hardly breathe. Back in 2019, I had a heart attack.

Frankly, coming out as trans fixed a whole bunch of my abject terror issues. But I'm still a flake.

I may be just a little bit batshit.

So you probably do not want me to be in charge of your programming language. At least, not without serious friends.

But I will fork Haskell if I have to.

I'd rather not.

I will fork Haskell if I have to.

TICK TOCK

Do I strike you as angry?

The people in charge of the programming language I've put a lot of my life into just failed to notice that someone they appointed to their own board is a serial hater, especially of trans people.

I'm very angry! And it's not because I'm full of testosterone. It's because those bastards are full of shit.

I don't just want fuckface Whitaker dismissed into the dustbin of history.

I want everyone associated with approving that bad move gone.

Do I strike you as angry?

I'm a trans woman born in Protestant Ulster in 1973.

If I wasn't angry, there would be something wrong with me.

Wrote a thread on Bluesky here about the results last night— where American voters repudiated transphobia in every human-vs-human election, and embraced transphobia in every ballot initiative…

…and what people (specifically, cis people) need to do right now.

This thread assumes the WA transphobia measure will pass. As of 4PM ET the numbers look real bad. Here's some analysis if you care about numbers. https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:eez4vedmpryrsq2ee4xwbrdn/post/3mziqvemy522x

I don't owe you shaving.

But visibility after not shaving gives me the yikes.

I am having a good earring day.

But you are not getting any fucking pictures, and my chin is having the day off.

trans women are biologically female actually and i'm tired of pretending we're not

Here is my AI declaration.

If it has my name on it and it is not a case of identity theft, no fucking AI was involved and I'm fucking offended you even found it necessary to ask.
