So, looks like #China's #AIBubble has burst or is set to burst with poor investment returns & decrease in retail/consumer spending - especially in places that have rapidly adopted AI/LLMs or pushed it through their consumer ecosystems.
When fully bursts, look for massive fall out & knock on effects in the rest of the world. More so if the US tries to bailout AI/LLM companies with public money.

The real lessons of PHP2Shell week.
Tomorrow, Saturday, October 24, 2026, I'll be speaking at Linux Day in Modena, with a talk titled "Beyond Linux: A Journey Through the Open Source Ecosystem."
Will I talk about Linux? Of course. But I'll also talk about BSD, illumos, monocultures, and why we should never forget that there are always other paths worth exploring.
Linux proved that an alternative was possible. It would be a shame if that alternative became, in turn, a new imposition.
Because monocultures are a problem, even in the Open Source world. And because freedom isn't about everyone doing things the same way, but about being able to choose a different way.
Open Source and closed minds don't mix.

If "AI" is so amazing, then why can't it fill out job application forms based on my resume without fucking it up in new ways every single time?
Mostly it means if you’re working on a scientific or mathematical breakthrough you should not, under any circumstances, use any chatbot (or possibly any cloud software) while you do it, because they’ll just steal your work and claim it was theirs.
IT are provisioning a new desktop for me and they asked me what software I needed installed. So I put down the list of apps I use, like Blender, Resolve, ffmpeg, VLC, yadda yaddda, … and tacked on the end was Linux OS. I was kinda trolling, fully expecting the answer to be lolno, but they've gone and set up a meeting to discuss what distro and desktop environment I need. Feeling like the squeaky wheel here, getting some grease.

Today's funnies in #WordPress: wp core-team including long-a** names for their "fancy" (read stupid) llm-integration and thereby causing the file-names of said "integration" being truncated and thereby failing to verify in a checksum-check. *chefskiss*
AI ‘godfather’ Yann LeCun has ‘zero concerns’ about human extinction and thinks Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei is ‘deluded’ and ‘crazy’. Yann LeCun dismisses fears of AI extinction and recent hacks at OpenAI and Anthropic, arguing that security breaches comes from poor system design, leaky sandboxes, and a lack of basic cybersecurity in AI labs, not out-of-control AI. These AI are doing as told by these AI labs

Finally somebody said it what I was saying about this nonsense

Speaking as someone who had some clout in the Ruby community who also has some clout in the Rust community, DHH is a white nationalist/supremacist who should have a place in neither
pro git tip: you don't have to put the --global flag in when setting user.email and user.name like the instruction hint says. You can set it per repo (edit: or per folder of repos). If you need to have different identities per repo. Because ... I don't know you have some work things and you have some personal things, and you have some horny things you don't want all tied to the same id.
You can even set different ssh keys if you set core.sshcommand to have a -i parameter pointing at a different key, and you probably should do this, unless each id is on a different forge, but you almost certainly want one key for each id.
Yes it makes spinning up a new repo slightly more annoying in that you'll have to set this every time ... but you can be more of you at once and in my eyes that's a valid trade off.
Wealth isn't virtue.
Journalists:
A Ponzi Scheme is not a generic name for an investment scam. It is a very specific investment scam. It is misleading to refer to NVIDIA’s circular financing scheme as a Ponzi Scheme.
They are booking payments as investment and then having that same money come back to you as revenue, which drives up their share price. Because NVIDIA’s P/E is 30, $1 of money moved in this way translates to a $30 increase in NVIDIA’s market cap (possibly more, because this shows growth, which pushes up the P/E). This allows NVIDIA to issue more shares and repay the current investment.
This has some similarities with a Ponzi scheme: it relies on new investors putting money in and it allows early investors to cash out using money from new investors. But it is a different mechanism and a different-shaped flow of money.
In the interest of accuracy, please refer to it as a Huang Scheme.
If you hate DHH and vibe coding, come help Redox. Here he is throwing a temper tantrum over our no-AI policy:
Nvidia dismisses "circular financing", says every $1 it invests brings back $100 https://invezz.com/news/2026/09/11/nvidia-says-every-1-it-invests-brings-back-100-so-why-does-the-stock-keep-falling/
So I asked my friend who is investing banker and works at bank and he said if $1 brings back $100 that is even bigger red flag. I asked him how? He said and I quote: "a 100× return is a 9900% profit on the original $1. So it cannot sustainably produce enormous returns with little or no risk. That is not how it works."
So me thinks: it is a huge risks & a major warning sign. Crash is ahead,
