"The case is exceptionally rare because the genital herpes virus is seldom known to be transmitted through manicures and onto customers’ fingers."

I would like two seasons of Nathan Fielder living with convicted felons before they go to jail. Who do I talk to about this?

Wow, I got this completely wrong. I'm clearly not that into Star Wars

Number Two, you have the com

"We didn't land on Fragile Rock; Fraggle Rock landed on us!"

I'd really like to hear Werner Herzog's opinion of You Can See Everything (2026).

I had difficulty reading the text message that eventually became the title of the film, so just did some searching to see if I could find something about it without watching the film again and discovered just how genius the title actually is.

I am really kicking myself for not noticing this myself, but the word "can" in the title mirrors the word "can" that Elizabeth uses to describe the capabilities of the Theranos machine. Nathan can see everything, provided there is something there to see.

I just realized what's been bugging me about 404 Media.

You know how in Penn & Teller's Bullshit (TV 2003–2010), they'd show footage of experts making reasoned arguments for one side of the issue and then Penn would say "and then there's this asshole:" playing clips of the most unhinged motherfuckers to ever live?

404 Media is 100% the "and then there's this asshole" part.

I don't dispute any of the information they're publishing, but it feels very much like every post is a quote-tweet saying "get a load of this asshole." I don't get the impression they want to shine light on darkness as much as they want to just dunk on the motherfuckers crouching in the shadows.

I don't think this is necessarily a problem or wrong or anything—publications gonna publicate after all—but I'm glad I finally placed the little mysterious familiarity that's been buzzing around my head for a while.

There's so much to like in You Can See Everything (2026), but a few personal highlights:

• Nathan showing Elizabeth Holmes the Abbot & Costello "Who's on First" bit, and then inadvertently reënacting it with her while struggling to explain to her why it was funny

• Nathan showing Elizabeth Holmes Amanda Seyfried's portrayal of Elizabeth Holmes in The Dropout (2022)

• Nathan showing Amanda Seyfried the footage of Elizabeth Holmes watching Amanda Seyfried portray Elizabeth Holmes in The Dropout (2022)

• The juxtaposition between Amanda saying she wants to take down Billy because "a woman doesn't like to see another woman treated that way" with Elizabeth Holmes being upset at Amanda Seyfried later because "a woman doesn't like to see another woman treated that way."

"He argued that transitioning to eco-friendly energy alone is insufficient to prevent a long-term climate crisis, and that Earth’s temperature must be regulated using space satellites."

I was with you there, buddy, right up until the comma

While we're renaming stuff, I feel like changing 'Department of Justice' to department of literally anything else might be warranted.

"we chose not to enable quote posts"

Ok, this is partially a lie. I did choose not to. But GoToSocial also hasn't implemented Mastodon's janky mechanism, so if I had chosen to enable it I'd be out of luck.

It downloaded last night at 11:30pm and I really wanted to start it. But it's 3 hours long so....

The other day I learned about a blursed homeopathy loophole: make the water fresh from hydrogen and oxygen to avoid all the medications that are no longer present in all the existing water (and thus are unimaginably strong.)

This water started out with no medicine in it instead of just ending up with no medicine in it. Brilliant.

This cam of You Can See Everything (2026) looks pretty good so far. Looking forward to watching this later

Once again wanting to publish a huge blocklist that just contains brands

Hot take: bacon ruins a perfectly good maple bar donut

Hot take: bacon is awesome. Donuts are awesome. But combining them isn't 🤷

I love bacon. I love the "maple bar" donut. But putting bacon on a maple donut ruins the donut and the bacon.

"I don't understand why some of you bother blocking quote posts because I'm just going to copy the link and it will look exactly the same"

1. We're not blocking anything, we chose not to enable quote posts, many of us because we disagree with them on principle.
2. "Why have rules against AI commits in your open source project, people are just going to do it anyway."
3. As I demonstrated yesterday, pasting the link absolutely does not "look exactly the same" for the vast majority of fediversans.
