... so when I say that Paralives has literally broken the record here, I mean that sincerely.

Paramaker really is a gem, and I will stand ten toes down on it being one of the best character creator/customizers to exist. There are still a lot of things that can improve with it (for one, facial feature genetics in babies & toddlers *still* need some major tweaking, and the eyebrow shape in babies is stuck on "default" still), but hopefully the potential implementation comes in due time.

My aunt was recently exposed to Covid and wants suggestions for halfway decent rapid tests available in the USA (pref via amazon or at drug stores in the Kansas City metro area )

Or, if you know a place that has Metrix tests and the testing unit in stock that can same or next day deliver, that would be even better.

If you know if any places still do drive through PCR testing with 24ish hour or less turnaround times that might also be useful

Check out this beautiful sea life quilt my mom made me! 🥰

Do you have a beard? #poll

A couple of days ago I came across this Dorothea Lange photograph from 1938, “Gas Station, Kern County, California (Lettuce Strike)”.

The gallery text reads “Black and white photograph of an air pump at a gas station. Beneath the two signs reading "AIR" is a sign reading "This is your country don't let the big men take it away from you."

Beautiful, simple, enduring.

Good morning

I wish you'll have an easy day.

When you're online a lot, it sometimes feels as if everyone's a revolutionary organizer and you betray the cause by not being out on the streets right now doing an uprising.

Bullshit. Global real time mass communication is a very new thing and for the most of history, being part in an uprising, and if, in what role, really was product of circumstance.
Just take care of your people, your neighborhood, etc and you're good. Maybe circumstance will call for a revolutionary act, maybe it'll happen in another place and you won't get to see any of it. Maybe it won't happen at all and you're just gonna continuing to survive and take care of your people during dark times. And maybe you won't.

Anyway, history isn't singular acts of revolutionary heroism, that's just how we tell the stories. It's mostly people taking care of what's in front of them, never to be sung about.

Sometimes I forget how quickly life can change, and continues to change.

It’s common for folks to think that disability happens in one moment - in one instance when something bad happens to you.

For me, it’s been happening for years and is still happening. It will persist for my entire life, unless a cure is found.

This post was prompted by me remembering that I take a strong immunosuppressant to keep my immune system from further damaging my body. That I’m vulnerable.

If you’d told me at 29, that at 39, I’d be fighting so hard… I’d have been left speechless and terrified.

Yet, I persist. We all persist.
Day by day, my friends. You are enough. I see you. 🫶

hey friends! :boost_request: I've been working hard to get my freelance work back up off the ground after being kicked off disability coverage in March, but ive had 2 gigs this month canceled outside my power, and failed to get a short term contract last night. I'm a diabetic & disabled metis trans femme & photographer, musician, and graphic artist.

I don't have enough time to find additional work before my meds run out, and I really need those meds. December and January are covered, but the gigs that were gonna pay for November are canceled.

Help me raise $400CAD to pay for my survival meds and help replace my broken glasses?

I have one new subscriber, no sales, and can't get hired but I'm alive and I'm creating art. Still here. Still fighting.

Reminder that clocks fall back tomorrow for many of us!

Daylight Savings time begins.

This video just changed my life. It has opened a world of patching apps to make them the way I want them. There's even a patch for The Score, so I can see sports scores without betting information or the crazy amount of ads they've put in there. And this shit is so easy to do.

Oh, and I completely have removed shorts from my YouTube app. I still have premium lite because I watch a lot on my work computer which can't install any adblockers, but for my phone, this is incredible

@RoseRaven So the app is called Morphe. You can download it from their website (https://morphe.software/), then you can download a patch and apk, then patch the apk and it adds a ton of settings to the app. It is android only

Siri, show me the ADHD meme that goes harder than any other...

There are many good people on the Fediverse who gave up big followings on twitter or facebook or whatever because they put their values higher than being enablers on pro fascist platforms.

Thank you

An endearing finnish thing:

When someone is struggling, we don't wish them "thoughts and prayers" (tho some religious finns will happily pray for you), but we wish them "powers" (voimia).

And I like to imagine them as the powers of the forest, the wind, the deepest lakes, and forgotten secrets hued into the rock by our ancient kin. The spirits reach to give you their strenght, the veil is thin, the old songs lend you aid.

We wish you powers on these tough times.
