On a ride on #Montreal 's newly opened REM light-metro line, I learned that the builders discovered crates full of explosives.

They'd been cached in bedrock in a century-old tunnel around the time of the Spanish Flu, and then forgotten.

Here's the view through the 5-km-long tunnel...

The Trump administration is paying children in ORR custody (essentially detained children) $2,500 to get out of the country. Many of these children have no where to go, have no family, and are here seeking protection. Our immigration system is broken but this is NOT the way to fix it.

It came! I'm so excited to read this book!

Full disclosure, I am friends with the author, but one of the big reasons I became friends with the author is because I've read her previous academic work on this subject and she's spot on, but to have a full and accessible book is sooo amazing. With my own experience being someone who has been on the water, working in the "Gates of the Sea" doing migrant rescue in this place, hers is my most respected voice of research on this topic that I've read.

The only sad part is I'm out of town and my spouse sent me this picture, so I have to wait another week until I get to read it! Lol

Ahhhhh!! I'm so excited!

@lunavives I'm so excited and so proud of you!
