@aceade @rysiek oooh I think this was made into an endless loop GIF and it's my personal fave! I've used it in many a team chat.

Everyone needs to see this and also acknowledge why reverse engineering is a super power.

#AI #OpenSource

@lritter @aeva @aras @jon_valdes @dotstdy i think AI can bring amazing results if you don't know what you want and you don't care. before LLMs, you'd have had nothing, and now you have something, and having things is the main thing we value in our economy. it doesnt matter what they are or whether we like them, its just morally good to have lots and lots of stuff and spend lots of money on it

#cyborgWorkers 3.0 I was invited by the Norweigians, and the Norwegian intro is suddenly very interesting – Norway has successfully regulated oil, sees data centers as oil refineries, know exactly what is happening with revenue outflows and understands when to nationalise things and how locals work together. Speaker is Rune Halvorsen of OsloMet.

TBH meeting was getting off to a slow start, but maybe necessary for the audience of what is normally a union conference. https://www.etui.org/events/cyborg-workers-30

2fa doesn't help if the service you're using gets its password database leaked

Disk encryption doesn't help if your OS rats you out

The problem is less whether individuals follow "security best practices" and more whether corpos can be trusted one iota (spoiler warning they cannot)

I will never stop beating the "2fa is security theater" drum.

Nowadays companies just get their Juicy User Info database directly stolen, and password security / 2fa is relatively unimportant for the end user.

The push to get end users onto 2fa (let alone shit like PassKeys) without also levying criminal penalties on corporations that leak their database, is akin to putting water restrictions on households while not regulating big industrial water users. A complete fucking disgrace.

Doing Trump's dirty work in Europe won't age well.

Until further notice, I consider KDE as a nazi bar.

TIL that there is a standard for technical English, originally thought up by the airline industry in order to have rules on how to write documentation for that makes it easier for non-native English speakers to understand.

It’s called ASD-STE100, where STE stands for Simplified Technical English. It’s available for free (with a Google form asking for some personal data) over at https://www.asd-ste100.org/

Det er det man støtter ved at have konti på Metas platforme. Og det handler ikke om én kampagne op til det amerikanske midtvejsvalg.

Seeing #Autechre live is a unique experience. Seeing Autechre live at Bataclan in pitch darkness even more so. It's like sharing the inside of your head with 1600 people.
Incredible & memorable.

Apropos nothing, where do I buy hot #NetBSD t-shirts?

1. Tried to buy a bottle of real nice whisky online yesterday
2. Got asked for age verification
3. Did not buy bottle of whisky

Congratulations to #KDE for the 6.8 release!
Sucks that I won't be joining you on this and future release parties.

- I'm still banned for calling out a nazi in your community.
- I haven't received any apologies from KDE, CoC, that sysadmin, influencers and linux news sites that made excuses for them.
- There's still no way to report something to KDE's CoC.

If you report publicly, you get banned. If you report privately, the nazi's friends silence you. If you don't report, nazis are in control.

Goodmorning.

Yesterday I overslept by about 45 min, today I woke up 45 min early.

Balance.
