I have a very strong connection between some CDs and the point in my life where i bought them and listened to them constantly. When i see the cover, it takes me to physical places in my past. Including memories of how i felt back then.
Really curious if people who grew up with streaming music will have the same experience.

Apparently Graham Perrin, big AI pusher and FreeBSD reddit mod who jumps around various fedi accounts that aren't clearly identified as him, organized a false reporting campaign against Tomáš (Unix Surrealism) because he didn't like a post mocking the fascist dotfile cult Omarchy. Tomáš was at least temporarily suspended from infosec.exchange and probably lost all relationships on that instance.
Graham is the kind of person who should not be welcome on fedi.

Putting "setvar wsmouse scroll.reverse 1" (edit: into /etc/wscons.conf) seems to be the wrong thing.
Want my scrolling to be in the correct direction! ;-)

This reminded me of the CD buying process back in the days.
Go to the record store, select records either by "i know this band and maybe the new record is nice" or "that cover looks badass, hope the music is too", go to the counter so they put the CD into the player of the test-listening station, standing in the shop with headphones on and listening to the record.

i have a KMZ horizon camera and want to find anyone who also has one and/or disassembled it (or similar swing-lens camera) and/or thinks they are capable of helping me fix it. i’ll be on #40c3 and will bring it there.
everything seems to be working except for the shutter, as i understand it, shutter speed should in this case regulate the size of the slit, but it doesn’t. and in fact it looks like there’s no slit at all. the shutter is always completely closed. also seems like some previous owner tried to open it using force lol.
other than that it seems completely functional, so i hope to make it work.

Just saw that atracdenc (ATRAC encoder, required for #minidisc things) has been slopped in its most recent version (0.2.3). So i copied/forked the source at the state of version 0.2.2 to have a slopfree version available: https://codeberg.org/flart/atracdenc-fork
Apart from adding a tiny note and removing some leftovers i did nothing with it yet. This is currentl for archival reasons.
