Binance on how they lost 6.3 BILLION dollars:

The 0-day malware was not detected by the endpoint security protection tools at the time.

No. There is no such thing as "0-day malware". You had two employees who got convinced to download and execute malware, which happened to be undetected by whatever magic protection you believed in.

"0-day" is not a term you sprinkle into your words to convey "It's not our fault"

i was wrong, Binance hack wasn't Cursor vuln - it was a much longer op

I messed up some shit. Tried to encrypt a drive. I should have been more careful, resize the partition to shrink it down by 32mib then used the reencrypt command to encrypt the content. It worked but now I can't mount the thing, when I decrypt and try to mount the mapping I get an error about bad superblock and when I run dmesg to get more info it tells me:

`EXT4-fs (dm-0): bad geometry: block count 122088198 exceeds size of device (122084352 blocks)`

I have no idea if this issue is fixable or if my disk is definitely nuked. I suspect I was very silly and broke something when resizing (I don't know why I did that but I've used GNOME disks to do so).

So if you have any idea if this can be fixed at all it would help me a lot <3

A nice discovery for #Sega fans. Former developer Ken Rose's old floppy disks have revealed cancelled #MegaDrive games, including a lost Tails adventure, along with prototypes and source code from the early 1990s.

Mini-not-quite-article today on my #NeoCities about the discoveries and the preservation work by Hidden Palace and DevStash. It is amazing to me that we're still uncovering lost #RetroGaming history after 30+ years

I finally made it back to the Staten Island Ferry to take some photos, and I really killed it this time.

If you're wondering why the UK government recently advised people to stockpile some limited essentials recently, this thread was part of the reason.

The only carbon storage I agree with has a name: books.

Those are stored, en masse, inside the only kind of data centre I completely agree with: a library.
