BABES! I'm trying to fill the final Roadshow dates in December.

I run an original retro mobile disco with 70s and 80s lights, all played from 7" vinyl, by a real actual proper disc jockey!

Fri 11, Sat 12, Thu 24, Sat 26 Dec all still available plus a few midweek dates for staff parties, first come first served.

Great for parties, weddings, et al! UK-based (Yorkshire), fully insured, self contained, LGBTQ+ friendly, women-owned.

See you on the dancefloor! 💃🏼🪩🕺🏼

Why does Nextcloud Mail think Tuesday was last week?

The algorithm is currently pushing Nut Milk Bags at me.

It's a bit annoying having to rewrite a driver that I've already written for work in a different way - it's just for a MAX31856 so not proper IP and all that - but gross misconduct is a thing these days.

Mmm. Strawberry flavour drugs.

Are ST vibe coding their login bits on the website? Nothing fucking works.

Some twunts are setting fireworks off. It's lunchtime!

Using my super scientific method of dumping two thermocouples into a mug of hot water I can see that the cheapo one is well within spec and tracks the lab thermocouple within a couple of degrees, which is well within the bounds of a non calibrated system.

I'm surprised.

HOWEVER! As the thing I want to make will have dual CDC ports anyway I'll put a basic SCPI interface on so I can pull stuff in with my PyVISA insfrastructure.

 *Looks into SCPI spec*

Oh fuck no. I don't need that pain in my life.

Wifeface, at the time, didn't see why I had such a problem with it.

I guess we know more about neurological issues now than we did back then.

I watched the Truman Show when it came to video and I absolutely hated it. I thought it was more of a horror film than what they meant it to be.

I've watched it since then but still didn't like it.

Turns out some people found it funny.

Someone IRL mentioned Spiders closing. I guess it didn't take long before phone people found out.

Oh. I didn't realise SCPI had a bulk transfer mode. That would actually fit in perfectly with my needs.

I like the work one. It was designed by someone who used to work at Brainboxes and they know their serial shit.

I have a couple of minor niggles with it though which I won't detail here because work reasons.

I can't even do a clean room implementation of it because I'm too familiar with it.

Ok comms protocol nerds.

I need a thing. We have one at work but I can't copy that for personal use because gross misconduct and I'd like to extend and improve it anyway.

I'm after a serial protocol that gets me register/address access ala Modbus but also lets me do bulk transfers for stuff like firmware updating. Handling multiple devices on the same bus are a must.

I'm more than familiar with modbus and have already discounted it.

Anything out there or do I have to reinvent the wheel?

I was going to go down the 'nam again this weekend as I had a free lift but I've just realised that would leave the cats alone on Saturday night with all the bloody fireworks going on.

Most of them are fine with fireworks but a couple really aren't so someone should stay around them for reassurance and hugs.

Actually I am so angry at this particular company I might write them a strongly worded e-mail.

I fucking hate marketing people.

I'm trying to find out some technical info on controlling an X.

One company who makes an X have completely blog spammed every thing about X and why I should consider an X.

Duly added to my shitlist of companies to never, ever consider for our future needs of X.

Just burnt myself on a temperature probe at 900°C, how's your Tuesday going?
