#gaming : War Gaming: A ponderance

The term 'war gaming' or 'war games' has always sat uncomfortably with me.

All of it here 👉 https://iamgerardthomas.com/?p=5730

Wednesday night was X-Wing night.

Mixed faction night was a total train wreck, with a 61 to 24 loss! Team Yeehaw (Solo in the Falcon, Vader and two Black Squadron TIE’s) vs Team Daddy Issues (Vader, Luke, Kylo). The Falcon was removed in three turns after doing next to nothing then it was just Vader and the TIE’s hanging on. 'My' Vader ended it by flying off the map.

Wednesday night was X-Wing night.

A return after a few weeks off sick. Actually won this one 42 to 30pts. That’s not Fett there either, it’s one Mr Azzameen and his bomb throwing Andrasta in a new list. I really liked flying Emon, the bomb throwing madness is… madness. Will drop the torpedoes for Proximity mines though, as they will really mess things up.

This, right here 👉 "... That's what artists do, and really, anyone who make things happen!

Of course, you can use tools, structures, and academic rules to make a story more satisfying or a drawing more believable. But in the end, we’re still all making things up.

And that was exactly the mental shift I needed to have fun making a silly little comic." @NIGHTEN
