"This was always a campaign of white supremacist terror, and we need to make sure that is pointed out. This was a campaign designed to shock and pacify, not to do any actual law enforcement."

NYT:
"Flávio Bolsonaro, the presidential candidate defeated in Sunday’s election in Brazil, left for the United States on Tuesday, according to three U.S. officials, a day after the Brazilian police asked him to hand over his passports because he was being investigated in a money-laundering case."
The U.S. is a haven for crooked politicians...
"The report cites the experiences of 11 women, FBI records, and documents released through the Epstein Files Transparency Act. At least five women accused Trump of sexual assault in Epstein’s company, according to interviews conducted by the committee. Others said there were “apparent attempts” by Epstein and his longtime girlfriend and associate Ghislaine Maxwell to traffic them to the real estate magnate."

Watching this made me want to pull my hair out.
In case you are wondering why Jeffrey Epstein's best friend Donald Trump and his allies in the US and Israel are so invested in Bolsonaro and their circle never being caught.

Guess who found all their old Star Wars toys.
This year the @Vivaldi team visited Siglufjörður as part of our yearly visit to Iceland. Parts of the team live in Iceland, but other members of the team live in Norway and around Europe.
It is great to spend quality time together. I feel lucky to work with such a dedicated team, who have common, shared values.
We have a lot of cool stuff coming up, which I look forward to sharing with you!

If people contributed to a project with the understanding that it would contain LLM contributions, that's their prerogative, and some people are fine with that. But the reality is that most of these projects are older than that. People invested their effort on a different social contract, and it was changed out from under them. It's like relicensing but more consequential.
I think that's a much bigger theft than scraping. Scraping doesn't steal our communities.
EDIT: If you resonate with this frustrated drunkposting, I have bad news about someone else stealing a community from under you. https://raphus.social/@MaddieM4/117513231532012154

There are many seals in the loch here, but this one has taken a shine to Bertie dog. He hangs around looking up at Bertie (who barks of course). Not sure if it's the noise or that fact that Bertie looks a bit like a seal wearing a fur coat. No 'Seal of approval' puns please!
