I'd like to talk a little about ketchup.

If I say "ketchup is just the worst," that's an opinion.

If I say "because I don't like ketchup, no one should have it," that's oppression.

If I say "people who like ketchup are dangerous and should be controlled," that's bigotry.

If I say "anyone who defends ketchup should be silenced or locked up," that's fascism.

And then hope it's fixable, which is another problem.

We just had a power cut. My PC is powered through a surge protected extension lead, but it seems to have got fried anyway. Can't remember what the bios or motherboard are and there's no beep code speaker of course, or even a clue about where to connect one if I could find my external one which I can't.

Running late because I stayed up arguing with centrists on bsky. But I have coffee and the sun's shining.

Today I'll be looking for places to live that aren't on Terf Island, among other things.

More transphobia - nay, more trans genocide going into place from ukgov today.

Seeing reports lots of government departments are announcing employee bathroom bans, on the day that the NHS segregation guidance has come out.

The former is intended to force trans people out of employment, the latter to discourage us from getting healthcare. Both exposes us further to violence. Both actions are genocidal.

Any cis woman who wants to be a great ally, this is how.

Just invite us to spaces that are totally normal for you and treat us totally normally... We really don't get to experience this much and it's life changing and lifting every time it does happen. Instant joy that then lasts for weeks after.

I hope UK bookshops carry on selling the Sally Rooney novels the UK government has tried to ban.

When I was in the book trade we carried on selling imported copies of Spycatcher - the exposé of nefarious political interventions by MI5 and the CIA that Thatcher tried to ban.

As a bonus, our book co-op made a fortune, as the big chains (now Amazon, etc) bowed to the book banning.

It would be nice to see prominent Sally Rooney displays in every independent bookshop in the UK...

Call to action to cis people: be assholes anytime you get asked for your sex assigned at birth. Write letters, complain to staff, refuse to answer. Make it impossible to collect sex assigned at birth. Be really offended that anyone would ask you. Make enough noise that if trans people want to quietly not answer or give whatever answer feels correct to them, no one will notice.

Dreamed I was at an NHS physio appointment. The first nurse was making banter about me "when I was a man." I threatened her with GRA section 22 and she ran away. The second deadnamed me and refused to stop. A doctor turned up next and didn't want to know.
