I fucking hate cars. I don't want to be in one, and I don't want to be in a place built for them where their drivers treat pedestrians, cyclists, and buses like an annoying nuisance

my bday wish is just for y’all to listen to some of my music. no need to buy anything, just give it your attention for a while.

Bloody hell!

Had a distressing nightmare. Maybe spending most of the evening reading about Elizabeth Holmes and then watching a Zuckerberg thing last night didn’t help.

I predict this will be more and more common 😢

Nonbelievers will be purged, and the remaining rats will fight each other to be the last person to be left prompting the machine.

Dear software companies:

I do not want an Experience. I want to do the thing I launched your program to do and then move on with my fucking life. I do not want to remember how your software felt to use. I want to remember the Work I did while using your software.

You are not designing an amusement park. You are designing a tool. My screwdriver is not an Experience. Building this furniture is an Experience.

This whole album needs much more recognition https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-7qAcbyO2M

Terrible!

It's the album that made Mrs Hot Dog say
"I suppose that's a reasonable price" and
"I can see what you were going for".

Light Sunday reading: this is a very nice interview about the work GoG does with old games, and if you weren't around back when they were released it gives quite a bit of context about what needs to be done to make them work properly in a way that also preserves the quirks of their age

Can’t wait to dance to MDX and ae again before they wrap up their 2026 tour. Thanks for bringing this to London tonight Rob ae and @sean_ae . I hope you keep doing more tours and dates once you celebrate this and have good rest after the tour.

Non-ae, kind of irrelevant, rant part: Otherwise I feel deprived of beautiful dance music. Not gonna slag any style off but it’s just not what I like when most events here will be the same people playing d&b or non-exciting cliche techno or some endless happy hardcore (I guess I did but I just don’t like it. Like why wouldn’t they play wild dark doomcore techno from Germany? Or why is so hard to sometimes feature more of some exciting dance music with some experimentation smh. Or more of unique fun things like our beloved mate @counivers’s sets as DJ Sissyfus?)

Exciting!

what is your favorite thing you have soldered / built?

i really like soldering kits. i belive this is how people who enjoy jigsaw puzzles feel when they get into the flow of one of those.

i have built some eurorack modules, but i am not in the mood for more eurorack modules right now.

the last (solderless) thing i built was the kit form of the mnt pocket reform, which was amazing. but obviously i am not building another one.

so do you have any tips for a fun, useful project for ambient boy?

It's been a while since I updated my thread with quotes from electronic music pioneers. Continuing with Egyptian American pioneer and ethnomusicologist Halim El-Dabh:

“We evolve. Whatever I’m doing, I’m evolving – I’m learning more and more every time I do the passage.”
