In Europe, Doctolib is a software that helps doctors manage their patients' appointments and sends the patients reminder messages for their appointments. A calendar software for doctors, basically.
Very often you cannot even get an appointment without Doctolib anymore. When you call the doctor oldfashioned style, a robot voice tells you to book an appointment online using Doctolib and hangs up.
Doctors can also add their notes to Doctolib, like the reason for the visit: depression, ear infection, warts, sexually transmitted disease, you name it.
Doctolib trains their own LLM on that highly sensitive data, and does all sorts of other disgusting shit with it. Recently Nvidia partnered with Doctolib.
Doctolib tries with all sorts of trickery to weasel out of the restrictions imposed by the GDPR so that they legally may do whatever they want with your health data. It's disgusting. In GDPR terminology, they try to change their role from mere "processor" to "controller" by tricking/forcing patients into creating a Doctolib account.
Just today I went to have my blood checked, for my vitamins B and D values. (I'm a vegetarian.) And it was really hard to find a doctor who doesn't use Doctolib. I refuse to go to doctors who hand my data to third parties who then sell my health data to "AI" companies or use it to become one themselves.
