If those in between GenX and Millennials are called Xennials, the ones in between Boomers and GenX are Boomex? 🤔

Remember that guy at the office who used to do nothing right and made everyone work extra to correct their constant mistakes?

That guy is now AI’s most fervent adopter.

#AI is so popular with some people because the world is full of mediocre assholes who don’t know their asses from their elbows.

Are those guillotines already sharpened or what? 🤷‍♂️

He, he, he! I think Chris is talking to you, @cabel 😆

Good news everyone! 😒

Don’t worry: if we take measures nobody is taking and nobody is compromising on, we may reach 1.5º by 2100…

I think I'm ready for tomorrow's #MastodonInterface change...

-"You need a package manager specific for Python"

Really? Ok.

-"And set up environmental variables"

This is getting confusing already

-"And an isolating environment. And manage dependencies, and..."

You know what? I don't want to program in Python anymore. It's just fucking confusing, and not beginner-friendly. I'll try something else... 😒

#python #macpython #pythononmac #clusterfuck

I'm a Graphic Designer. I've never been a programmer. The best I can do is BASIC and JavaScript. I always wanted to learn some programming.

-"Learn Python" I see as a recommendation.

Ok.

-"But don't use the Python on your Mac".

Alright? That's a bit confusing, but ok. I'll install the latest version with Homebrew.

-"No! Don't use that one either!"

Uh...Ok? Too many restrictions already. What should I use then?

-"Get a package manager"

Isn't Homebrew a package manager?

If you can, watch Rainbolt’s latest video: https://youtu.be/FBeMrUWX73s
I’m not a super fan of geoguessing, and watch his videos from time to time, if the search is meaningful, but this one is special. And the message is fantastic.

Considering that it’s getting harder and harder for people to buy a home, I don’t know where you think I’m going to put all these smart home devices you’re trying to sell me…

It’s curious, that when foreign actors (be it Russia, Israel or the USA) want to weaken Europe, they promote right-wing narratives.

I’ll say it again, in case it’s not sufficiently clear: when foreign governments want to interfere in EU politics and weaken our societies, they promote right-wing parties.

Make of that what you wish.

I really hope this is not true, but just a stupid fake flex: https://www.businessinsider.com/ai-researchers-smoking-ai-cure-cancer-palantir-cto-2026-10

My mom died of Vascular Dementia, micro-strokes caused by her smoking habits. Symptoms were similar to those of Alzheimer’s disease.

If people think cancer is the only risk related to smoking, think again.

What a stupid world.

Call me uncultured if you want, but early in the morning I don’t want a “gourmet coffee experience”, and I don’t care if my coffee is from Colombia or Madagascar.

I just want caffeine in my veins, lol!

And also, for my coffee company not to exploit poor people in some random part of the world. Or want to take water away from people. Yeah. That. Fuck Nestle, you can rot in hell.

“We collect anonymized user data… this data is not tied to your personal information”

Lol! Fuck no! 😝 I’ve seen what’s possible with a data lake, and it convinced me that “anonymized user data” it’s a scam to appease people. Companies can definitely identify your “anonymous” behavior and tie it to your identified movements.

So, unless your app show a “This app doesn’t collect user data” message, I will be happy to use another one that does, even if its UX is worse. Sorry, but no.

I tried one called “Queal”. Boy, was it bad! The good thing is that I developed a deeper appreciation for food made with good, natural ingredients, and the act of cooking and eating in general. 😆

To me, AI is to writing (and art in general) what meal replacement powders are to food. If you ever tried Soylent or something similar you surely know what I mean. 😝

When I was a kid (some 40 years ago) most right wingers I knew were antisemite nazi morons. They hated jews and Israel with all their might.
Most right wingers today are staunch Israel supporters. Funny turnaround, right?

One thing you have to recognize them: they’ve been denying genocides their whole life. 🤷‍♂️

Fantastic news for European payments! EuroPA (Bizum, Bancomat, MB Way, Vipps) and EPI (Wero) are merging into European Network for Payments (ENP). They had an agreement before to join forces, but now will be part of the same group. 🇪🇺

I’m retreating. I’m sheltering myself from the bots. I’m shrinking my online presence. The Fediverse is my actual refuge, but I’m not entirely sure it’ll be a safe place in the future.
If everything goes wrong, I’m ready to go back to analog.

#deadinternet #fediverse #slop #backtoanalog

I’m of the opinion that every generative AI slop content put online is a earth salting event that contributes to the #deadinternet

I’m not sure that we’ll be able to recover from all the damage that generative AI is doing to the internet (and I’m not even mentioning the environmental impact). 😒
