In Finland, Google chopped down 250,000 trees, without a permit, to make room for a shiny new data centre. They were ordered to do an environmental impact study. They didn’t bother. That’s how AI companies do it.
If you are still using Google, maybe it’s time to ask yourself whether its services are worth a quarter‑million trees and why we have to sacrifice so much of our nature.

Jeg var i byrådssalen her til aften for at spørge byrådet om de prøver at handle efter kommunens klimaplan som har delmål at reducere strømforbruget i erhverver med 1% hvert år mod 2030. Og hvordan det hænger sammen med et datacenter der forøger strømforbruget i kommunen med 100-400%.

I reluctantly registered on #eBay yesterday, to buy stupid shit.
Today, I received 2 e-mails from them, telling me my account is permanently suspended. Giving me no reason. But carefully telling me that I *cannot* reply to the e-mails.
I had to fight a chatbot to be allowed filling out a contact form with a human on the other end (I hope).
Oh, and returning to their website – logged in with my suspended account – I was first asked to confirm my shipping prefs.
What a shit show.
