CNN Panelists Worry for Haley Stevens After Interview

“In what can only be described as a remarkable moment of television, Rep. Haley Stevens took to CNN late Sunday to explain her endorsement of Republican Mike Rogers — but the interview quickly dissolved into a confrontational exchange that had the next guest stunned,” the Washington Sun reports.

Said Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI): “This was one of the most painful interviews I’ve ever watched.”

Please, sir. May I have some more RAM?

I just received a notice from #Link, a payment service offered by #Stripe, informing me that their Terms of Service and Privacy Policy were being updated as shown below.
My response was to delete my Link account. I hope a lot of people do that, to send Stripe a clear message about what we think about AI, crypto, and invasions of privacy.
You can delete your Link account at https://support.stripe.com/how-to-delete-your-saved-payment-information . If you shop online you may have an account without realizing it.

It’s AI Slop, Charlie Brown.

The "Icepick" leak exploited by a hacker known as “Department of Peace” has exposed thousands of Homeland Security personnel, groups and more: https://unicornriot.ninja/2026/icepick-leak-exposes-thousands-of-homeland-security-personnel-groups-and-more/

Fuck you @naceugene and fuck you @activistchecklist for peddling this fucking slop and polluting the discourse. People will go to prison and die because of you. I hope you fucking choke.

Oh my fucking god, that stupid fucking Activist Checklist website that doesn't listen to feedback and has mushy as fuck threat models is *vibe coded* including *content*

STOP RECOMMENDING IT. IT'S FULL OF BAD ADVICE.

I get it now. CEOs are fine with and are pushing vibe coding because they’ve always been comfortable taking credit for other people’s work. and their lack of empathy prevents them from understanding most people are not like that.

Wow! 🤩 El-Sayed has raised over $2.4 million since Stevens endorsed Rogers.

DOJ pulls out all the corrupt stops hours before midterms Hopefully, you spent the last weekend before the midterms maxing and relaxing, unlike the Department of Justice, which is still very busy trying to figure out ways to wreck the election.

Susan Collins has appeared to take bribes before. It's not her first rodeo!

Susan Collins is an INSULT to democracy.

@naceugene @hakan_geijer @activistchecklist We are explicitly facing off against people using technology to control: by undermining labor, by automating propaganda and disinformation, by destroying the capacity to find genuine and real information (both by diluting and outright ruining search).  LLMs have resulted in suicides; they're powered by illegal generators destroying Black communities; they are run by the explicitly eugenicist and fascist TESCREAL people; they burn more carbon to generate little of value.  It gaslights and isolates.  It allows for massive labor suppression.  It is an explicitly fascist technology, and it's only valid use at scale is propaganda and burning oil.

And you're using it for _so little_ when there are people, actual people, who could have done that for you.

If you don't understand why that is a problem, I do not fucking trust your advice on how to "be an activist" in this world.

a word on Linux usability out of the box.

Ubuntu came along in 2004-2005 and set a new standard for Linux desktop usability. It was just ridiculously better at fixing the paper cuts - stupid little things that shouldn't even be a problem.

I was on FreeBSD at the time and moved to 5.04 immediately. (Loved one brought home a CD from a friend and we tried it on a spare laptop. Rapidly got heavily into Frozen Bubble.)

I was on Ubuntu from then until recently, when I got a new laptop and put Debian 13 on. It works great, very reliable. But also it's made of frickin' papercuts.

I just got another spare laptop (a replacement for my old dead T14) and just went for Xubuntu 26.04 to get it running, and it's just so much simpler and less faff and someone paid the slightest fucking attention to the importance of shit just working.

Ubuntu and Debian are both embracing the slop hard, but also Linux is still less worse than Windows and I posit that OSes need to pay more attention to the importance of shit just working.

That said, even Debian trounces Windows on working out of the box.

I'll keep doxxing flock nazi's 🤷

Worth it

There are a shit-ton of programmers here and I know y'all are worried for your jobs.

But I feel like so many are still only thinking of themselves in relation to potential employers.

There are two things here there's enough critical mass to do:

- Form a union (the Freelancer's Union exists for folks in freelancing (writing, etc). and shows you can band together for something even if you're not all at the same employer) or a guild... you could make something for people in tech and make it international just like the wealthy know no nation. The best way for labor to fight corporations is to ALSO be multinational. https://freelancersunion.org/ This could take a variety of forms with a variety of intentions, but the point is to organize regardless of whether you're already employed or not.

- Form cooperatives and create non-slop things people need while also providing employment for yourselves that you control. There are definitely people here who don't program who would be willing to buy a program from a cooperative software foundry.
