I rigged up an app that changes the lines for each function every day. New sass each morning.

My vacuum is too sassy.

Since yesterday, I've blocked nearly 100 IP addresses which had requested a hidden directory blocked by robots.txt - the graph already shows a dramatic fall in data transfer.

B⁶ is, as the name suggests, a blunt tool. But it's effective. I'll release the source code once I've tidied it up.

Some bots, like intricle-image-extractor are obvious scrapers, but most spoof common browsers. I half wish OSes would cryptographically sign their requests so you knew it came from a genuine device.

good morning friends does anyone know where i’m supposed to pick up my new pronouns

trans woman representative in fucking alabama? god damn

Now to waste an enormous amount of time and power trying to impeach Trump, setting him up as some kind of octogenarian persecuted martyr when it fails.

Thank fuck, USA. You didn’t cock that one up.

This was probably the wrong time to start watching Veep.

Zelenskyy is visiting Berlin today. I'm assuming he's coming via Brussels or the Hague, because the flight trackers are showing freaking Apache helicopters and military transports between here and there. Police helicopters swarming over Berlin.

Searching for new wire brushes online. Came across this piece of AI-generated shite that made me wince heavily. I've had skin removed by these things and just NOPE.

One of the greatest fears the AI bros have is not „human extinction“, but that people/companies might one day just run their own models locally without giving OpenAI et al. access to their entire life and data and money on top. Because then the bubble pops.

Can’t imagine who will ever see it again after that, given climate and politics etc. Maybe some visiting aliens will discover it in a few million years.

Just waiting for discounted skeletons to go on sale so I can seal one behind this wall I’m closing up.

If I could tell conferences one thing, it's: spend some money on accessibility, even if you don't think anyone needs it. If nobody on your volunteer group knows how to do this, treat it like other things you pay for and hire a consultant.

Yes, it'll cost money. But it'll cost less than shitty overpriced hotel or conference center snacks.

And, yes, disabled people notice when we're less important than shitty snacks.

Inclusivity measures should be higher in importance in your tech conf budget than swag. For AlterConf, on practically no budget, I provided:
- sign language interpreters
- live captioning
- ADA accessible venues on public transit lines
- quiet rooms
- free childcare
- kosher/halal/vegan/gluten free/allergy-free meals by locally owned restaurants
- non-police security
- etc

while still paying speakers, bloggers, photographers, sketchnoters, and every other local who worked on the conference.
