Hey @thelinuxEXP Is there any reason why the Tuxedo Stellaris is out of stock at @tuxedocomputers ?

No! You can't insult the @kde Mastodon app @tokodon like that! @omgubuntu I won't stand for this slander! 🤬

In all seriousness, it's great to see another FOSS Linux desktop app for Mastodon continue on, even if I prefer Tokodon because I'm a KDE user! 🐘

@Tuba is a great alternative FOSS linux desktop app for Mastodon if you prefer GNOME apps.

Fun fact: Tuba was a hard fork of a different early Mastodon app for Linux that was also FOSS but sadly ended development.

I hope this explains what is wrong with billionare CEOs: https://www.notebookcheck.net/EA-CEO-earned-38-6-million-amid-Battlefield-layoffs-granted-use-of-company-jet-and-could-receive-125-million-in-exit-package.1356558.0.html

Meanwhile, most workers in this field are barely able to get contract work or even unable to get employment. This is just fucked up. And quite frankly, unethical.

We still have a shot with the #EndOf10 and thr RAM shortages.

Don't let big tech win. https://www.gartner.com/en/newsroom/press-releases/2026-02-26-gartner-says-surging-memory-costs-will-reduce-global-pc-and-smartphone-shipments-in-2026

It takes a lot for me to be shocked at 47 doing something horrible.

This absolutely just did. The fact that the WH is trying to play this off as "something that doesn't matter" is fucking bullshit. Because while it doesn't change my opinion of 47 that I think he's a subhuman piece of waste, it confirms my belief that he really is a subhuman piece of waste.

That obviously is not what's happening, and gamers are starting to wake up, if the angry comments are to be believed.

There are many examples of not only Windows crashing or becoming corrupted after Javelin or Vanguard has "issues", the ties Tencent has to the CCP and EA's recent deal with Saudi Arabia and a certain "other hated person" in addition to other reasons should be enough to make you seriously question the actual need for something that you can't verify isn't a rootkit. Because it is.

These developers and publishers would rather complain about cheaters and other BS arguments rather than work on a solution or give up that control from them or Microsoft, even if Linux did get 10% or more of the Steam gaming user base.

If they actually wanted a solution that worked, they would use more server-side implementations and other tools that are nowhere near as invasive as what Javelin, Vanguard, and several other systems are.

Normally, I can understand wanting more software on Linux. But this isn't about adding possibly GPL violating code into the Linux kernel, which would make the resulting theoretical kernel (once it has been DKMSed into the kernel) unredistributable. It's all about control. Control of what you can run on the hardware you paid your hard earned money on. Control of being able to not have spyware on your computer. And control over every single facet of your computer usage.

How much money is Microsoft slipping to these developers?

Apparently, enough that it's obvious, despite all of the angry comments showing that this is the wrong thing to do, especially with all of the Windows 11 hate.

I hope this studio enjoys shutting down because short-term stupidity from a deal is only going to cause gamers to turn on them! 🖕

If it requires Secure Boot & TPM to be enabled, you can bet Microsoft had a hand in that.

Excuse me, what the actual fuck!? 🤢🤮

Please tell me that this is satire.

It isn't!? Well then, go fuck yourself! You killed a woman who was a US citizen who was also not hurting anybody, unlike your sorry ass!

After I bought the Steam Deck LCD in 2022, I told myself that the Switch would be my final Nintendo console, and that I would never buy another console again, unless it was a true PC in terms of freedom, like a handheld PC or Steam Machine.

This kind of enshittification is exactly what I warned people about when the Switch 2 was announced and the "Twink Link" reports came in.

It's time we stand up to these corporations. Do not buy them. Tell people to stay away. Call out those who do.

When I slowly started to turn against consoles around 2019, I now know why I did so.

I wanted the freedom of platforms that consoles haven't given users since the PS2 and early PS3 days (technically you CAN override the PS3 update that broke OtherOS, but obviously most Linux distros do not support PowerPC in 2025).

To see this from ANY company, but especially one like Nintendo pisses me off and makes my decision to never support them again all the more justified.

This might be a controversial opnion, but here I go:

If you're trying to justify using Firefox after all of the recent Mozilla crap solely because it's not "Chromium-based", you're wrong and contributing to the proble.. Stop. Just stop.

The sooner Mozilla & Firefox dies, the sooner we can rebuild the open web. Using Firefox right now, especially not a fork, under this "zombie" of Mozilla, only hurts everybody except for Google.

DO IT. I'm 99% sure that nobody at Lenovo is reading this, but they should 100% do it.

EA is a malware company. So is Microsoft. So is Tencent. Anybody that forces secure boot just to "play a game" should be looked at with suspicion and distrust. And avoiding doing it.

The BS in question: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2807960/view/497213442478833989

Oh, and this only proves that EA is letting Microsoft entice them into keeping Microsoft's monopoly.

BTW, I do hope that Wayland protocols become seriously more mature and allow for most use cases before this Plasma 6.8 releases, otherwise, this could be a problem...

Wait what!? @kde Plasma's Session will be going Wayland only BEFORE Plasma 7!? In Plasma 6.8!?

Wow.

Oh, and need I forget Rockstar. You know EXACTLY what I'm talking about there.

Valve should 100% ban game and developers removing support for Linux/Proton unless the developers repay the Linux users every cent they spent in the game. Like GTA Online and Apex Legends.

Honestly, Valve should ban those games going forward too, or at the very least charge a higher commission fee on those games and in game purchases for those games.

Right in the "Bull Shit" bin with EA, Tencent, Epic, and others refusing to support their games on a handheld PC that literally sold millions of units and still is going. And of course, running on an "OS" that is spyware, adware, rootkit infested, and unpopular, and taking money from the "OS maker" to either remove te support or never support it because Microsoft and their buddies need to have excuses on why they should control your hardware and software while simultaneously spying on you.
