But we're lifting their sanctions and buying their diesel, because Trump and Putin are BFFs.

So now we wait to see how things transition and are allowed some cautious optimism.

Reasons for hope: The voters understood the assignment. The blue wave was significant despite gerrymandering and suppression efforts.

Reasons for skepticism: We have ten years of compounded "distrust the system." Our elected representatives are a mixed bag of not maintaining the checks and balances that are there for a reason. They need to actively engage in repairing any number of ruptures in functioning.

The anti-Ukraine to being a rapist and/or pedophile pipeline holds strong.

This is not the time to reach across the aisle. Show some real leadership #Democrats.

US midterms: Elon Musk fails $440 million bet as Republicans lose • FRANCE 24 English
The 2026 midterm elections were the most expensive on record, with nearly 12 billion dollars spent during the campaign. Tech tycoon Elon Musk was by far the largest individual donor ever, injecting over 440 million dollars of his money to support the GOP. Tuesday's resounding Democratic victory showed the limits of his money, power and influence.

Many of my readers have been concerned about the anti-trans ballot measures passing.

But there are already plans underway to ensure that they never go into effect.

Court challenges are incoming, and the state courts are very good.

I cover all measures here.

The surprising number of doctors and scientists who won their elections on November 3rd. It's another good outcome that occurred in the leadership swap.

With the Blue Wave, we must now demand actions.

I sent the following to Schiff and Padilla:

"The country and the Democratic base have spoken. Significant policy change is expected, including accountability, especially but not limited to the Trump administration's crimes and corruption.

We voted for change, including Senate leadership, especially the Senate President. Schumer should be thanked for his service and given the opportunity to decline to run for leadership, or be replaced. Either way he must go.

There are good leadership alternatives for the Senate President. Elizabeth Warren should be at the top of the list, and, women should be given 50% of the committee leadership roles.

Status quo is not what we voted for and not what we demand.

I trust that you will recognize that the new political environment is different and that we expect fundamental change in policies and leadership."

Are Democrats Democratic?

So a party called “The Democratic Party” just had a major electoral win in the USA. Will they try to implement democracy? Rule by the people? Unlikely, because they don’t seem to know what democracy means: an informed people making all the key decisions that affect them.

I'll have you know TIME takes no prisoners! 😂

.

Does JD Vance understand where never ever ever ever electing him?

The only reason he has a position in the first place is because he came with Trump like an accessory 🥴

.

Since the Democrats are talking about accountability, can they please start at home?

As in investigate Hakeem Jeffries. Maybe Jared and Hakeem share a love of paper airplanes. In that case, no harm, no foul.

And have FinCen count Jared's foreign bank accounts, too.

"Look! I never knew that man, Stephen Miller, my senior immigration architect. I think he might have been friends with JD Vance. I don't know. But, we bigly know he is to blame for everything that's gone wrong. And, he's disgusting. I'll post his cell phone number on Truth Social so you can call him. Thank you for your attention to this matter."

This might be my favourite photo of this whole film stuff project so far.

A colour image made with a 19th century trichromatic process using b&w film. I thought the colours were way off when i first seen it, since i remember the place being a lot greener, but it actually looks pretty close to a digital reference photo i had.

So i succeeded even tho at first i thought i didn't. 🤣

This has potentially big ramifications nationwide considering that state’s influence on curricula.

Interesting informed perspective from Marcy Wheeler, @emptywheel.bsky.social who writes:

"Hakeem Jeffries is not YOUR leader. There are actually people leading the resistance well already.

He is the leader of 255 incoming Members of Congress, more than half of whom are more conservative than you, than me, and even than Hakeem Jeffries."
