@benroyce @crow @ignova @MikeDunnAuthor I have tried to find any polling or documentation on the number of leftists in the US and have been unable. From my own real world experience, I am hard pressed to find more than a handful of leftists among 10k liberals at an event. Far less than even one percent.

That being said, there is no reason not to vote other than virtue signaling.

@odd @Binder @RustyRing @crow

this is why i call nonvoters immature

in life we fight for something: we make some advance. we keep at it: we make a little more advance

that's all there is

engage. sustain. iterate

eventually we get good

but these sort of losers who say "give me perfect in a gift bow, *then* i will contribute, and i expect we fight once, then never have to fight again"

😂

nothing in the world works that way

entitled, fake leftists: they issue demands, and do nothing!

@benroyce @CatDragon @crow

i will vote for an imperfect democrat, liberal, or even impostor liberal if it keeps a fascist out of office. then continue telling them they suck until they fix their shit or make way for a proper socialist.

@Lightfighter @crow @ignova @MikeDunnAuthor

on the contrary i would say many important races are so close, a few percentage points more of leftist voters would sway things

and i've heard from many anarchists with your attitude:

you differentiate between your true goals, and your immediate goals rooted in the current system

strategic thinking

so many idiots out there don't understand strategy

they are emotionally inept. they want perfect now or they aren't doing anything. total losers

@benroyce @crow @ignova @MikeDunnAuthor I consider myself an Anarchist. I vote. Why? At the very least I see it as having the potential for harm reduction. It doesn't cost me anything but a little time.

That being said, I doubt there are enough non-voting leftists in any district to swing an election.

@CatDragon @crow

they don't vote in the primaries, these do-nothing whiny entitled fake leftists

they will spend 500 posts screaming about centrist spineless democrat turds (and they are correct)

but then... nothing

just useless complaining

the primaries is where we get real leftist candidates. mamdani. angie nixon. AOC. etc

they did not descend from the heavens

they were voted in

so anyone not voting in the primaries: *they* are to blame

nonvoters are the reason so many democrats suck

@crow @benroyce
What I find frustrating is that none of them get involved in their local politics. Don’t go to town meetings, couldn’t tell you who’s on the school board, never bother voting in off years.

@benroyce @crow @ignova @MikeDunnAuthor keep preaching it brother, fuck this this fake new leftist take of not voting

@crow @ignova @MikeDunnAuthor

i don't know what mike would say, but i would say that proud leftists of yore, out there fighting at great risk, would wring the necks of these whiny entitled do-nothings endemic in leftist spaces today. whether as right wing agent provocateurs or organically someone with a psychological issue. it's certainly not ideological this empty cynicism and impotent perfectionism. it's ego masturbation and feelings of grandiose sanctimonious judgment. that's not leftism

@glitterbean @ignova @crow

well do me a favor

if you encounter a fake leftist telling people not to vote, tell them this:

"you are what you do. your belief is not what you say, but its effect on the world. so if your belief results in the advancement of fascism, such as asking people to stand aside and do nothing, not to vote, what are you really?"

i ask you to do me this favor because most of these assholes on the fediverse block me by now, due to my constant mocking of their ineptitude 😂

@glitterbean @ignova @crow

well yeah but we achieve that by voting

so any argument that says "don't vote" is not real leftism

it's a right wing psyop to suppress the left vote. or it's the mark of someone so impotent in their suffocating cynicism and perfectionism they are not speaking ideology, they are speaking of their psychological problems and personality disorders

they are fake leftists

they are entitled, whiny losers who are not advancing any ideologically leftist position

@ignova @crow

fake leftists are immature, emotionally inept people

what is important to them is how they feel. that's it

#manufacturedOutrage gets to them and immobilizes them

that also gets to #MAGA- but that side of the #psyop encourages them to #vote

sitting on #socialMedia proudly proclaiming to do nothing is the mark of an ineffectual loser. literally: they aim to lose

suppressing the left vote to advance #fascism is not ideology. it's psychological manipulation

entitled empty people

@crow @benroyce i have to wonder if these people have studied any history, its vast aeons of barbarity and suffering, to put today's leftist political sins in context. all those modern ideas we enjoy, like human rights and decent lifespans, can and will slide into hell on earth without constant maintenance. to give up on that maintenance because the progress wasn't fast enough is peak entitlement.

@RustyRing @crow

nonvoters are not the same problem as MAGA, but rooted in the same place, and with the same effects

same place: entitlement. same effects: empower fascism

the entitlement makes right wing bigots emboldened to do malice, and left wing whiners disillusioned to do nothing

the bigot is excited to vote

the whiner will just sit there and complain about any goddamn absurd imperfection or mindless cynicism. their goal is to feel righteous and superior, not improve the world

@Kierkegaanks @crow

✅

what you are is not what you *say* you believe, but what you do

in such a way, "leftists" who spend their time wallowing in perfectionism and cynicism, and on that basis choosing to do nothing (not voting), are essentially just masturbating their ego. and supporting fascism in their inaction

they are fake leftists. empty outrage people

they have a psychological position: tweaking their self-regard

not an ideological position: advancing a set of beliefs through action

I’m so tired of perfectionist leftists who require every candidate to be perfect in order to join those candidates in resisting fascism.

Maybe not as tired as @benroyce but pretty close. Their level of pearl clutching and squeamishness shows no regard for actually trying to make things better in the real world.

Please #Fediblock the account @mclbm for impersonation.

My name is not unique but it is *extremely* rare, I have a popular fediverse account, and all 116 of the people this new account is following are connections of mine.

EDIT: Also @MaxLeibman@masto.nyc, which is using my profile pic.

@maxleibman @mclbm

happened to me once too

i even put a warning on my profile about it:

"this is the only ben royce that is me anywhere on the fediverse"

the problem is that a not insignificant amount of people on the fediverse have multiple accounts across multiple servers

so there is more "understanding" here that someone might have an account somewhere else, and this means impersonators can get more traction on the fediverse

so we have to be extra vigilant

I am currently at 27,000 subscribers on YouTube, and I would very much like to grow beyond that.

So today I am pushing out a short to get more people interested in my channel and the latest long form video "Are tariffs making America great again?".

I have no idea if this will work. Would this make you interested, if you did not know my channel?

@pedrobizbikedu @oliver_schafeld

if we jettison the #GOP in 2028 and the #Democrats make serious and substantial changes to prevent another #Trump, then *after* a decade, the #EU should begin to think about trusting the #USA again. it should watch to see that we make real progress in guarding against #fascism

if the Democrats do their usual "aw shucks" routine and change nothing, then we will get another Trump. and #Europe should consider us just another #Russia. which we will be at that point
