Hi all. This account has moved to https://gts.awfulwoman.com/@charlie.
For unknown reasons the migration fucked up for followers on the big instances: mastodon.social and fosstodon especially were hit hard.
So if you get an automated DM from me advertising the move, know it’s legit!
if you've ever wondered how algorithms work, you are not alone. https://tv.gravitons.org/w/8hErEFxggPYF5mZ2Ux86MY
i have been incarcerated in Debtor's Prison due to these algorithms. so relieved I can still receive these video calls from my mentor, while "inside".
Was in Boots earlier, in a northern English town, and these guys were in there: all white, 30-40s. Judging by the (cropped out) logos on their hi-vis, they work on a nearby construction site.
They were discussing skincare at the Clinique display. One guy swore by their 'for Men' products but admitted they were pricey. They got into a long discussion in the main skincare aisle, over the pros & cons of various products. No bants, no shit talking, just wholesome advice.
Hurrah for supportive men!
I strongly recommend reading @dansinker's Open Letter To The People Writing Lengthy Posts About 'Why I'm Going Back to Twitter' — it won't take much of your time.
OTD in 1989, 37 years ago, I turned off my Wide Angle Camera (WAC), a 200 mm wide-angle lens with an aperture of f/3. There was nothing more to be gained by powering its heaters, & that energy was needed to provide more power margin. Photo by PF is the Engineering Test Article at the Smithsonian.
I have new books out! Back the kickstarter 🤌 https://kickstarter.com/projects/mrlovenstein/mr-lovenstein-presents-fun
think of her the next time you call yourself a software engineer

Men using her as a fucking nerd trophy makes me spit. #MargaretHamilton
Oh that’s cool, you have a little Lego set with a figurine version of her. That’ll close the wage gap and get rid of the boys club in your company. #MargaretHamilton
You’re allowed to publicly and theatrically mourn Margaret Hamilton when you’ve used your hairy maleness to actively help women.
@awfulwoman The fun with babysitting, etc is that you get to give them back!
Spent a couple of hours babysitting. My goodness babies are a lot of work. But they’re absolute adorablechubbycutiebums .❤️
“While OpenAI admits to agents behaving ‘unpredictably’, they must also acknowledge their responsibility to monitor and prevent these risks,” Wikimedia said. “AI companies are not doing enough to secure their systems and protect the public from the harm they cause.”
Hey @mullvadnet - my credits with you finally ran out, so it's goodbye. Your CEO funding a xenophobic anti-immigrant party means that you've been replaced, greatly! 👋
Hi @ivpn - please don't do a Mullvad Duck in turn.

Have a guinea pig to make up for all that.
Anyway, that’s left a fucking foul taste in my mouth. Makes the future feel bright and happy.
Genuinely could not tell if this was his obsession or his job. His system language was in (what I presume was) Russian. Absolutely banging out stuff to a German audience.
He was exuding angry short man energy. Is this how some men actually live? You see it online all the time. But to see a troll in action was horrifying.
Was sat next to a little Russian (?) man on the U-Bahn. While I was there his entire time was spent on Facebook, reading and liking right-wing anti-Ukraine Russian (or just in Cyrillic) content. Like, scrolling and faving such posts _non-stop_.
Then he started posting. When his media browser opened it was pure memes. Anti-LGBT, anti-DEgov, anti-Ukraine. A new post every few seconds.
Then the commenting started. He had DIKTATOR, TERRORIST, PADOPHIL, NAZI all reedy to go in the autocomplete bar.
Not sure why I felt the need to include disco Wizbit but that’s what being FUCKING QUIZ WINNER does to you.
