It doesn't matter that you've had sex with them before.
It doesn't matter that they came back to your place.
It doesn't matter that they agreed to something else.
It doesn't matter how they are dressed.
It doesn't matter that they previously agreed to that specific thing.
It doesn't matter that you were in the midst of something consensual if they then changed their mind.
It doesn't matter that their "no" isn't forceful or violent or accompanied by them leaving.
Clear, enthusiastic, ongoing consent is both sexy and vital.
I fear that there will be some *dreadful* takes on consent (elsewhere) following Brand's conviction.
You ever look at your phone and just think "you're a slab of glass, metal, and slightly spicy sand, what gives you the right to demand so much of my soul?"

Hey, we're live!
Let’s just peruse the list this morning: https://www.advocate.com/politics/election/lgbtq-midterm-election-winners-2026
Unclenching a bit, for a change.
lukewarm take, but I want people to stop saying they create "content". that's corpo-speak for feeding the machine. tell me what you make, what you love.
you're not a content creator, you're a filmmaker. video producer. funny-post-maker. actor. you are more than a generic noun. 🦊
Spotted in our local high school. The kids may, in fact, be alright.

Hey, @gilahava704 and I did the thing!
It constantly discourages me when I talk to peers in my age group how many of them continue to support this fascist regime's domestic and foreign policies, but then I remember these are the same motherfuckers that wedgied me and stuffed me in lockers back in high school and it all makes sense.
I suddenly understand why so many supervillains are scientists who snapped one day.
#today hive mind, I am looking for a book to help a very bright 5 year old deal with impending loss. My chaos monkeys other grandmother is not responding to chemo.
Other grandmother and I are good friends (weird, right?) and she wants to be as transparent as possible without hitting the kid over the head with TMI.
PLEASE BOOST. The books I have looked at are after the fact. We need something that explains tired and hair loss and terminal .

Elections in the United States can be fraught times. My number one safety tip? Don’t go up against Matt Blaze on election security. You’ll lose. Everyone does.
(Also, he’s a great follow on this topic, and posts a lot of cool photos, too.)
Dear American citizens, whatever you wish more German citizens would have done in 1933, do that now.
A better future is possible!

We hear about all of this money being spent on swaying voters in elections but HOW is it being spent? Mostly on ads.
You could instead spend the money organizing and get much more bang for your buck. Hold public planning meetings, serve snacks, listen to people talk about what they care about and then act on those things.
The snacks and renting the pool hall cost much less than a TV ad. And you get more devoted followers ... but you need to listen.
A few years ago I was at a Doctor Who event at Manchester Metropolitan University. I'd been having a bit of a difficult time. It was a really lovely event but sometimes being in a room full of people who are having a good time, and having expected you would be having one too, can leave you feeling a bit deflated.
From across the room, a man spoke to me. He called me over and we chatted for a minute or two. Not about anything in particular, no sage life advice was imparted, but I started to feel better. There was no reason for him to have even noticed me. It was a busy event. He saw someone feeling sad, and without making a fuss he let them know they weren't alone.
At the end of our conversation, he handed me this and wished me well. It was just a brief meeting, but such a kind and thoughtful thing to do.
He will be missed.

you don't need to do something every day for it to count! you don't need to reach any special threshold for it to count! just find some time to learn a new skill any time in November, and you've won in the only way that will ever matter!
2026 in a nutshell: I don't mind having to manually re-set the time on my stove and microwave, because that's a small price to pay for them NOT being connected to the internet.
Edit: For those not in the US, this has nothing to do with a power failure; it's a DST change.
