Pretty foggy out here! Actually at this elevation we are in the middle of clouds that are raining on the people down below. 🙂

Autonomous drones following running people through the woods, without GPS. Developed, with military funds, at a public university.

This is not dual use anymore, this is single use. There is only one use here.

Sometimes I worry that I'm becoming a negative Nancy with all my ethics talk, and then I see colleagues proudly post this kind of thing without a single acknowledgment of the implications.

Should Ryan GosWING clinch the top prize, he’d be the fourth consecutive Oregon bat to win the Bat Beauty Contest."

I’m really enjoying the TV series Small Prophets! It reminds me of Lodge 49, which I wish had not gotten cancelled. It’s sweet, cozy, and charming occult metaphysics. On Apple TV (boo Apple but they have some good shows).

In Hexham, Northumberland, in 1971, two carved stone heads were unearthed by two brothers playing in their council house garden. At first, the boys' family kept the heads in their house, but they and their neighbours experienced poltergeist-like phenomena and glimpsed a figure described as half-man and half-wolf. The heads passed to an academic who declared them Celtic artefacts. She also kept them in her house and she too experienced strange goings-on and saw the beastlike figure. The incidents stopped when she moved the heads out of her home. The heads are now lost, but a man came forward claiming he had created the heads in the 1950s for his daughter to play with. #SpookySunday #folklore #gothic #history #Halloween 31DaysofHalloween #paranormal #archaeology #weird #horror

Do swordfish ever accidentally spear a fish and can't get it off the spear? Food is right there, maddeningly unattainable.

"Do you need a little help there, mate?"

"Shut up."

zomg, scroll down, I love Julie's "what you love" / "paid to do" diagrams. And who doesn't love a good Venn vs. Euler explainer?
