You don't need to go to China even - we are down the road from the linked project, and a lot of the huge logistics trucks thundering through our Swiss village are now electric.
(I'm not wild about this but they do usually stop at the zebra crossing, unlike car drivers, and I'd rather they be electric than diesel! Also they may be slightly less than 49 tonnes, but a search suggests over 40).

Someone has stolen the recycling wheelie bins from the church.
Sue found the blue one burnt out on a green nearby, but the brown bin is nowhere to be seen.
The Reverend said all the bins were missing on Sunday, but they were found nearby and brought back.

We have taken a load of scrap copper, brass, adn aluminium to be weighed in. A bit more money in the house move funds. I don't think there will be much more of value now. Everything else will probably be recycling at the tip.

i hand-coded a svg version of the intersex inclusive progress pride flag, as a banner in an aspect ratio suitable for an 88x31 button
it weighs only 850 bytes, or 328 bytes gzipped
that's without aggressive compression: the path instructions are integer-valued, space separated, fairly readable, all the colors use html names not hex codes

It is bin day:
Pink - food and garden waste.
Brown - bottles, cans, and plastic food cartons.
I am off to meet Sue at work in a bit, and then we will take another load of non ferrous metal to the scrap yard.
That will free up some space for the next load of stuff we need to sort and clear out.
I am still very tired, so I don't know what else will get done.

I was extremely exhausted.
We took Mum shopping,
And then loaded the car with E-Waste.
It was all taken tp the WEEE Charity,
And some light bulbs went to Ikea.
Sorted a load more stuff,
And took that to a charity shop.
Popped down to Chorlton,
And picked up another new book to read.
Did caretaking,
And chatted with Mum.
Put Midge on charge,
Then caught up with some videos.
Really tired now,
So off to bed.

Someone announced in our class last week that men don't cry and for the first time in my life, I publicly hit back and said, "I do". Many in the class were shocked and didn't believe me, so I explained how I've always cried. When I was young, it was secretly but as an adult, I cry when emotion overwhelms me. I don't see it as a sign of weakness anymore. I think it's a sign of strength to accept what your body needs to do and I feel much better afterwards.

You’ve probably noticed it.
Cars spilling out of parking spaces. SUVs you can’t see past when crossing the road. Pavements with barely enough room. Huge bonnets outside the school gates.
Cars have been getting bigger for years. Longer, wider, taller – making streets more dangerous and especially for kids.
And once you see it, you start seeing it everywhere.
Anyone interested in a four lense Polaroid camera? It is the sort used for passport photos, and will take 1, 2, or 4 photos each shot.

We have sorted out another small car load of stuff and taken to a charity shop. That's got to be well in excess of 20 drops, maybe 30, and almost all full estate car loads.
Just renewed my car insurance, and unlike most people I actually read the policy. For the first time it includes a blanket exclusion for using any automated driving feature beyond cruise control, presumably because there's no settled case law on liability and they don't want to be a very expensive test case.
They also want me to know that the policy is available in #Braille.

I was laid off today. First time I've dealt with something like this. Not much else to say at this stage.

Reading yesterday about the plane crash when only the CO-PILOT's name was released -a young woman- and OF COURSE in the comments was: "I flew commercial craft for 40 years and women shouldn't be flying because they crash".
Turns out the actual pilot?
