Real talk: when you’re young, you have the rest of your life to look forward to. When you’re old… you don’t. It’s up to you to *give yourself* those things.
It’s never too late to start. Learn, create, explore new things. The universe is vast. Even small things contain infinities. When I pass, I want to be in the middle of 1000 projects.
If you think about it, EVERY month is "no nut" if you have a peanut allergy. 🤔
Speaking of #Halloween bangers... https://youtu.be/0WBEo2QQJx8
Voted early, so hopefully the Great Pumpkin will recognize my sincerity and visit my house! 🤞🏻 🎃

I gave them my half-empty iced regular and a cigarette, but their old man pulled them away before I could offer them a light

Real talk: if you have a clone, and the clone is down to clown, are you fucking yourself?
I need this costume for Halloween! 🤦♀️😂🤣
I keep seeing "sometimes the LLM is right" which means as much as "sometimes a random number is 4" and I'm so tired.

the 4 in t4t is actually the private key
Vancouver Aquarium is looking someone to be their otter mascot.
Fediverse, do your thing!
Expect quite a few sites to return error pages today and possibly through the week. Here's my piece on the new PHP zero-day that affects about 70 percent of the Internet. We'll be updating the story with important new developments.

It has been brought to my attention that Netflix are making a reality TV series that is a redo of the 1971 Stanford prison experiment.
The experiment that had to be shut down because participants' mental wellbeing was being hurt.
The one that is used as the example in every first year undergrad course for why ethics approvals need to be stringent when designing a psychology experiment.
And a multinational US-based company things this will get them ratings worth the known, predictable damage it will do to participants.
I think I've just stepped beyond not wanting to give Netflix my money (I am no longer a subscriber) and into the territory of wanting streaming services much more heavily regulated.
At some point, lines have to be drawn about what we consider acceptable entertainment in reality TV. If we don't set boundaries, someone will get the idea that live-streaming public executions by firing squad is worth it for the ratings.
The Berlin police raid a community-organised health centre for trans and intersex people for allegedly distributing “prescription drugs”. You know, mostly hormones. The things people need when a healthcare system that supposedly serves them keeps failing them.
A centre that exists because trans and intersex people have learned, through repeated experience, that the German healthcare system does not reliably meet their needs.
And the cishet commentariat cheers on the police, naturally. Because apparently, when the system fails you, the correct response is to sit quietly, suffer respectably, and wait for permission to exist in your own body.
God forbid people organise. God forbid they help each other. God forbid marginalised people develop the expertise, networks and solidarity required to survive institutional neglect.
And then come the familiar little thank-you notes to the cops for protecting us from ourselves. How very considerate. Nothing says care quite like threatening the people who have built the support structures you couldn't be bothered to provide.
Here is what we learn, yet again:
ACAB. Solidarity is not a crime. And the state is not your friend merely because it claims to know what is best for your body.
We also learn that a considerable part of cishet society has absolutely no idea what trans and intersex life actually looks like, what it costs, what it requires, or what people have to do when the supposedly responsible institutions leave them stranded.
They don't know. They don't ask. They don't listen.
But by all means, they have opinions about our hormones.
Funny how the people least affected by a system's failures are so often the most enthusiastic about enforcing them.
Solidarity with trans and intersex people. Solidarity with community healthcare. And a heartfelt fuck off to anyone who mistakes obedience for safety and institutional violence for care.
