#JukeboxFridayNight I have not forgotten nor forsaken you. I did create your playlist for #PianoMusic yesterday, but didn't come on line to post it. Then today I've been away from the PC again. So many tasks have been completed, but posting your playlists hasn't happened until now!
⚠️ Sorry but deleted as seems its AI. Sigh.
The annual migration to their ancestral breeding grounds of the antlered giant prairie snail is a rare, but inspiring sight for any human to behold ...
Something I wish they’d explained better at school is that skills are transferable and often you’re learning how to learn. I see so many adults complain about how useless learning recorder in school music class was. The teachers weren’t into bad covers of hot cross buns, they were trying to teach musicality, sheet music reading, rhythm and handling an instrument that could be applied to other things in future using the cheapest, easiest to play, hardest to break instrument possible. I feel like the inability to see how learning things might be beneficial in indirect ways haunts a lot of people into adulthood to their detriment
Student: "You have millionaires and billionaires and. . . What comes after billionaires?"
Me: "Guillotines."
#Spotted at a Zinefest in Aotearoa New Zealand:
Two young humans (10?) with big hair and punk rock attitudes are explaining to a customer that their zine about what life was like in the 80s is not ACTUALLY accurate, but, like, MIGHT be accurate. (There is a dinosaur on the cover.)
A woman (30s?) is sternly ordering a mob of small humans (3-6?) out from under a bush.
Small humans charge out, laughing gleefully, heading for the nearest playground. Mum picking up the smallest, throwing her over her shoulder.
Giggles and snorts against her back.
A young human (10?) is very seriously signing a zine titled "The Wonderful Planet Snakes". A tiny little scrawl on the inside cover. Handing it over with a shy smile as a woman (40s?) approaching her table says: "I want one too!"
A woman (30s?) is sipping a vanilla diet coke while standing by her stall.
Laughing and saying: "This stuff is hummingbird nectar to me!"
A teen (13?) who is towering over his mum is saying: "Mum, when we're finished here can we go get the cake? We gotta get the cake!"
Any typos spotted in this post spent a lovely time at Nelson Zinefest this afternoon. If typos spotted they'll be reading a very informative zine about what life was like in the 1980s. (Apparently dinosaurs existed!)
Also, I definitely don't post pictures of young humans but these two have assured me that they and their parents are totally cool with it and are happy to promote their majestic brand "Loo Rolls Comix". 😊)

The Dutch Piano Ensemble performing part 1 of Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells on four grand pianos. (I saw them do this live and was rather gobsmacked. Amazing.)

Avril 14th - Aphex Twin
Weird for aphex twin because it's not weird but a great tune 🧘
Today's #JukeboxFridayNight theme is #PianoMusic and this one was a difficult choice for me. So I'm going to make this one double as a late #ThursdayFiveList entry:

I cannot post about Nils Frahm and Efterklang without also including Peter Broderick (who is in the video in the post above, also guesting for Efterklang).

That's the sound of me
Trying to push it off of my head 🎶

Finally, the master. I've seen some Monk posted already, but there's always room for more Monk, and this is the Monkiest Monk I can Monk.

This #JukeboxFridayNight, the jukebox is a piano, & we're only playing #PianoMusic.
We'll start by going back to one of the inventors of jazz.
