So wondering out loud, how does one say

"Read the f****** manual"

And they have a new radio... TD-638. I wish they'd get their existing models' firmware complete more as a focus. APRS on the H9 gets flooded with any messages not just ones meant for its set call sign and SSID.

The new one is basically the H9 in an IP67 case build. I'll wait for them to finish the H9's then think about the new one. H9 is usable don't get me wrong, but suffers from same keypad ware that the H8 does. H3 Plus is actually the more durable of the two.

New firmware dropped for the Tidradio TD-H3, 1.0.50... They finally fixed the Bluetooth Mic channel switching issue. Still haven't fixed the issue where turning on FM radio (broadcast) kills Bluetooth and disconnects any paired devices though. 🤔

Purchasd SQLite Pro on Android, made a sqlite3 database of my radios' channels/memories, and various scanning and satellite frequencies. Also made a one-page JavaScript app for a client side db in a browser (https auth) that gets the tables list then links to each as a menu to a table display format. All I have to do is keep the db file synced, and online offline access browser for my radios' channels and more. The 'app' is just two axaj calls, using the sqlite3 native JS library.

PostScript: that affect that looks like there's a liquid in there is just that, an affect. That's just an empty glass jar to prevent arc'ing, sparking.

Thoughts on Retevis license free HTs (FRS)? Helping a favorite local place upgrade their radio situation, and saw the MateTalk B4. AI noise cancelling supposed to have been trained on 100k samples. $140 for a six-pack with a charging station.

I have a pair arriving tomorrow to check out - does anyone out there have prior exposure to this model? Is the advertising realistic?

Gonna find out soon enough, but if you've heard them.. let's me know what you think 🤔
