RIP Walter Koenig. He was a class act to the end 🙏

The term 'rando' is an homage to Ayn Rand, the patron saint of reply guys.

I should be in bed. Insomnia sucks.

Pretty much every day, I cycle past a neighbour who I assume suffers from some form of dementia and also has great difficulty articulating. She is almost always outside at her doorstep, in slippers or barefoot, regardless of the weather. I always greet her and sometimes she signals that she wants to speak to me and so I stop over for a quick chat. Today she was trying to tell me something about bins, but I didn't understand what exactly. It sounded like she might need help retrieving something from her bin so I got off my bike and asked her to show me. It turns out that her direct neighbour had filled their paper/cardboard recycling bin with books and that she wanted to know if she could take one, but the neighbour was not there. She pointed to one particular book and read the title: "The rights of people with disabilities [my translation]" and proceeded to ask me if she was disabled. I found the question quite troubling and wasn't sure what to say so I told her that I didn't know what her disability status was, but that, if she was interested, I thought it was fine for her to take the book. I genuinely hope it's a good read.

Dreamed I had work training called “How to Handle Morning People”

As a morning person stealthing as a night owl, I said things like “gah it’s too early for this” and “noo… bright light!” when sun came through the door.

Had I overdone it? Did they know?

I was terrified I’d be clocked by my lunch.

“It’s a poor worksman who blames his tools” has always been complete nonsense. No-one complains about imperfect tools faster and louder than a master. A master will yank a cheap or damaged tool out of your hand and yell at you for not blaming it yet

Cheap, lousy tools come from middle managers who don’t know how to do your job. Blame the hell out of poor tools and those who demand you use them

no company with a billion dollars should have call centre wait times.

Fuck around and find God.

Wait. Let me start over.

Finally got those new glasses, so from now on I'll blame my typos on autocorrect.

Congrats to #TheOnion

I will soon get my new glasses which should cut down on typos and replying to the wrong comments.

@mcc yes, UBO is a table-stakes requirement for internet use these days.

The job application process :lolsob:

Dentist: So, do you floss?
Me: Do you use a unique password for every account?

Do you think you are neurodivergent?

This is not a question about diagnosis. If you think you are, the answer is yes.

As always, please boost.

ukraine blows up yandex data centers and right wing post engagement drops across social media in massive numbers

so instead of trying to regulate social media so russia can't undermine democracies and promote fascism, politicians are more concerned with banning kids from it instead?

nice priorities, idiots

edit: apparently the russian bot farm stuff may have been some wishful thinking?

@Natasha_Jay The script was famously written without gender roles, but nevermind.
