With a nod to Ozzy...

Charlie Kirk, who said "It's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so we can have the Second Amendment" has himself been shot

History is just Dystopian Nonfiction.

Spending time in the neighborhood of @cstross — I’ll try not to summon anything too big or hungry.

Landed in Edinburgh. 5 minutes of sleep. I do love red eye flights.

They claimed to have one job....

Trump's net worth has DOUBLED since his election in 2024 accourding to Forbes.

How is your retirement fund doing?

Trump has the worst first 100 days of any President… including Harrison who was dead for 2/3 of that.

JD Vance makes Dan Quayle look like a MENSA candidate. Hell, even Quayle knew when to shut up and let the grown-ups talk.

@cstross just finished your latest. I especially enjoyed the short stories about Bob at the end. That afterward though…. Tell us how you really feel… No holding back, now…. Lol. Very well done.

Not enough is being said about one aspect of the content Goldberg reports was in the Signal chat about attacking Yemen.

This group of war-bros all tossing around high-five emojis and congratulating each other on successfully having a bunch of human beings killed. People are dead, and all people on that chat did was tell someone else to get it done -- and keep it from leaking out before hand despite almost trying to do that.

Interesting stakes.

When Russia invaded Ukraine and failed to live up to the reputation of it's military, it showed itself to be much weaker than anyone expected. Maybe not a paper tiger, but surely a rusty and ineffective one.

If the Trump administration abandons Ukraine and with Europe's help, Ukraine survives anyway, U.S. importance on the global stage will be similarly devalued.

You can decide if you think that's a good or bad thing.

Next steps in Ukraine v. Russia. I predict Russia comes back with its demands for agreement that would include things Ukraine will never agree to. Russia will say “they don’t want to negotiate seriously”. Trump will have that excuse to pull support and we’re back where we are now.

This is massively import as it indicates strongly that even this SCOTUS is going to upload the precedent that the Executive cannot IMPOUND funds it doesn't want to spend.

Further, it shows that these justices will be giving the word "FAITHFULLY" it's full due when interpreting what "...he shall take Care that the Laws be *faithfully* executed, and shall Commission all the Officers of the United States." means in Article II.
